Collecting Orks has been an interesting affair - it's the first 'army' I've painted (rather than handfuls of minis at a time from various ranges) and my motivations have been sporadic at best, so the minis betray a mix of ability as I started painting, learned new technique, took breaks and forgot what I'd learned, and started again. Some of these pics have featured here before, but I though assembling them all in one place would help give me a sense of coherency and hopefully provide that much needed motivation. Hope everyone enjoys - updates will come soon - and questions/comments are always welcome.

Okay, I'm just now realizing how few pictures I have of my Orks - just the two characters really. Will have to break out the camera and get to work!

Oh, and don't forget the 'scratch-built' Stompa!

Does that stompa have a plastic spork arm...? Hilarious!

I do like your basing btw, simple and complimentary to the figure.

Thanks! =)

I think it was actually a spoon busted into spiky peices and glued together, but we'll go with 'battle-spork'

The bases are really simple, I cut some lines into the plastic with files to try and make them look like fitted blocks of concrete and then add some gravel and things from the GW basing kit.

So, I'm still figuring out the digital photography thing - any sugestions are welcome - but here are my Kommandos!

And some kit bashed Kommandos... You can't really see it, but the one on the right is holding a flaming gas can.

And the whole Mob.

The dark green biker is my Warboss, the red one with the huge PK plays 2nd Warboss sometimes too. You can kind of see the 2 groups of bikers are painted differently - they were done a year apart and the 2nd set came out grittier, which I like, but I think there's some more work to be done on them yet.

I have a bunch of lootas and some vehicles to take pictures of yet - and of course the boyz, sooo many boyz - but that will have to wait till the end of the week as I'm currently on vacation.

Hope you all enjoy.

You've got some great painting skills. I like these very very much! Your scratchbuilt Stompa rules too, though it reminds me of a cat. o_O

Thanks again bunnycakes =). I wish I were home so I could post some more pics and get to finishing the Deffkoptas I've been working on - this vacation is terrible and wearing thin on my nerves

Well, here's my greenskin's to do list in the mean time:

-Finish Deffkoptas: 6 are in the works (pics soon!) and I want to convert another 3 to have buzzsaws so I can run them in 3 sets of 3 or as single suicide units.

-Get Thee Some Grots!: I have a GW pack of the plastics, an old pack of the pewters, a bunch of random ammo runts and the like from other Ork sprues, and some random fantasy Gobbos that could likely be converted up. Think I can scrounge 30 out of the rubble? I should post pics of my bitz boxes, lol.

Kustom Build Some Buggies: This is one of the reasons I kinda stalled on the Kopta project, I like the buggies better, but I hate the standing model and the conversion work is going to be a job. I have 3 of the old models.... well pieces of them anyway, and 2 spare trukks sitting around still on sprue that I don't see making their way into my lists any time soon....

Unify Army Theme: I've made mention a couple of times now how my army looks a little mis-matched - it's especially noticeable on the older models that are more black/metal vs. the new stuff that is more scruffy red/metal - the older vehicles in particular feel bland and out of step with the new stuff. Time to get re-painting!

Noticed the Orks head peeking out of the window above the WAAAGH dozer bit. Awesome.

Yeah, I always meant to go back and add some damage/scrap/waaagh bits - seems to be a common theme with my vehicles.

Thank you both for the comments =).
