So, Having started off my army career in a Heavy Cavalry unit, really jaded me towards that sort of "style" of warfare, and with the wifes blessing i give you my WIP guard army:

1st plt.

2d plt.

command squad

Currently, there are two platoons of 4 squads each and command squad, 2 commissars, 1 lord commisar, and 1 company command squad. 1 shadowsword chassis tank, 1 basilisk tank, and a valkyrie.

I have 3 out of the 11 Chimera that i need, and 2 of the 3 leman russes that are needed for my army.

Once all this is done, i am sort of planning on a 3rd platoon, with 4 squads and a total of 5 more chimera.

An impressive array. The basecoats look very neatly done. Are you planning on washes, highlights and extra details?

Was the lack of focus in the front on a couple on purpose or camera (macro) issues?

Don't worry about lack of reply, it's mainly cause theres so many blogs on here that unless you keep updating they soon get missed. After a few updates and progress reports the replys will come flooding in!

I'm liking how the army is going. Very Helghast (killzone). I'm actually planning something very similar and I looked at the models you chose too but in the end I went a slightly different route. But I won't high jack your blog with details.

Anyway, keep it up and lets see some more pics!

Need more 's in my life!

the lack of focus in the front of some pictures was done on purpose.. toying with the "propaganda" look abit.

some of the details will be purely for tabletop ease.. the right shoulders will have a different color per squad, and one of the back plates will have a platoon color, just so i can tell each apart on the table, and put them away in the case quicker. Beyond that, i will probably give them a Devlan wash with a follow on, very light highlight in select areas.

if i can figure it out, the vehicles will get some heavy mud type weathering. But most importantly for me, i need to get the rest of the chimera.
