I did a search and didn't find anything, so I thought I'd pose a quick question. What is the best ratio of Simple Green to water if I was wanting to strip paint off of models? I just put some metal models in a 1SG:4W mix, but am wondering if I should add more SG.

I normally just use straight simple green. I've left metal and plastic models in for a week or so and I've never had any bad experiences. Well, except even that'll leave paint in the deepest recesses a lot of the time, depending on what they were originally painted with.

Pure simple green and an old tooth brush really did the job on a bunch of old metal warmachine models I picked up a few months back. I'm in the process of doing final high lighting on them so needless to say it worked just fine.

Working on my orks from way back when I started this hobby, simple green straight no diluting needed. Give it a few hours maybe overnight for metal or heavily coated models. Took an old toothbrush and they look new now.

I've left my models in undiluted Simple Green for over a month, and there was no problem with the mini's.

It'll stain metal, but apart from that it wont do anything to the minis. It's not strong enough.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

Well, thought I'd update. Using the mixture I stated in my opening post, I was able to get most of the paint off. I'm soaking it again, in a 1:3 mixture of SG to H2O, and will see if I can get the rest of the paint off.

That's true about the metal staining, but I didn't find it to affect priming or painting.
