Picked up WD today and amused myself by counting the number of pages on which an Arachnarok can be seen. The result was 27 pages and without re-counting, I think most of those featured more than one of the big beastie.

And for those thinking that past releases never get any support, the Stormraven still manages to make 8 appearances, including the Grey Knight preview on the back page (where there are 3 Stormravens, lots of Daemons, but no Grey Knights).

Nice Karak Eight Peaks Campaign though (with only one Arachnarok appearance).

Oh and Orcs and Goblins actually lose their battle report, despite fielding 3 Arachnaroks (JJ was one of the O&G players, he always loses).

I have to say that is actually quite a cool model

In my opinion, the last 2 White Dwarfs have actually been pretty good. And I don't play the Blood Angels or Orcs & Goblins.

Personally, I was expecting a bit more of a hint of the new Grey Knights, rather than just 3 silver Stormravens.

I even thought that the Jan or Feb (I forget which) Standard Bearer was readable.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

That's fairly infuriating. I'd almost prefer nothing than these "not-announcements" that GW seemingly loves to do.

I have mild arachnophobia, and I don;t play Fantasy. I'll pass on the spider.

I consider this another good edition of WD. Let's hope they keep it up!

Drat! Locating opponents with mild arachnophobia is my key strategy for actually winning games with my Spider Kult army.

Seems their's a new crew producing the mag, so things are looking good that this is a new style.

And well up for playing that Karak Eight Peaks campaign. Article on the various Wych Cults is also rather enjoyable.

Next months issue is going to be all about Grey Knights.

I skipped this issue, it didn't have anything pertinent to my hobby in it. Even if the issue is mostly about another game system that I don't play, should the painting article(s) be usable or should it have some 'chapter approved' literature then i'll still pick it up. i.e. IIRC the issue that had the Fortress of Redemption rules for regular 40K games was mostly WFB articles, but I still bought it.

Hmm i still really miss the painting articles, other than the oh look here are the basic how to paint our new releases ones, cant remember the last decent one. I also miss alot of the fluffy army projects and stuff like that, most tactica articles these days are next to useless with things like "dont stand your wyches in front of a vindicator without moving for three turns" type stuff. I do like some of the liber apocalyptica stuff and campaign articles however.

I am starting to get concerned that GW might actually be listening to their customer base for a change, after dragging their heels for so many years it now kind of feels that things are picking up,

I mean two army books for Warhammer and two new 40k codexs in the past couple of months has quite simply dumbfounded me!

I gives me hope for my Wood elves that they wont be forgotton about and may tempt me back into 40k if they ever get round to a new CSM codex.

I am happy with what the company is doing and apart from the bog standard price rise (thank you increased VAT!) I am in a stange and unfamilar teritory of having hope for the future of the hobby

Included in this ray of hope is the slowly improving quality of WD, I agree the number of Arachnarok pictures is excessive but I forgive this as it is a sweet model and well any business has to promote their new stuff.

And I second that is nice to see a competitive battle report for a change!

I noticed it too, but it wasn't as bad as the Land Raider and Steam tank hype, each of which went on for two issues. Also, the Arachnarok really is an excellent figure, and now that I've seen it in person, I like it even more.

The only thing I don't like is the fact that the legs go off the base, the ones that have a skull attached for more surface area to glue to the base. Also, the howdah doesn't look like it fits very well. You can leave it off so it's removable, but the fit is somewhat poor.
