Does anyone know where to find a plastic Thunderhawk gunship kit, that's not made by Forge-World?, because oh I don't know maybe it's because their kit cost 600 USD for a Thunderhawk! Jesus I like Forge-World products just as much as the next 40K gamer but come on really? That's way to pricey and I could never afford a kit like that. Yeah it's an incredible looking kit, and probably extremely detailed but again I could never afford that. The paper or cardboard models people print out and use really don't look that good either so If there are no other Thunderhawk kits that are plastic maybe I'll snag a couple Stormravens, but I would really like to get a hold of a Thunderhawk any help would be highly appreciated.

Your better off scratch building one. From what I know there isn't any other cheaper way to get one.

I have never heard of a thunderhawk kit other than the forgeworld one. I could be wrong here but I don't think there is one.

Could 2 or 3 Stormravens and some plasticard be shimmied into a Thunderhawk?
Someone has had to have had a go by now.

You would also need a tank kit for the cannon, but a couple of storm ravens and some work just might do it. It would be best to do a lot of planning first, before you start any cutting or gluing, especially if you want movable ramps, etc.

So maybe a couple of S.Ravens, a Volcnao Cannons from the Shadowsword kit, Some rhino/FW chapter doors, and a couple of Valkyrie engines might do it then.
Not sure what that woudl run up to price-wise, but probably still cheaper than going through Forge World

The only thunderhawks produced were the whitemetel ltd ed one by GW that was 500 pounds 15 yrs ago and the resin ones by forgeworld . Did you think there was a plastic one released that isn't on the GW site ? Or it mite be on the same page as the plastic emperor Titan or the squat army units ? Lol

There are some excellent, highly accurate templates doing the rounds. It's a major job to build though - easily enough time to make it comparable investment wise with buying a FW kit, if you're willing to be a bit forgiving. That said, the FW kit requires a lot of skill these days as it seems to be suffering badly with mould degradation. The last couple I've looked at in Warhammer World, I wouldn't buy, as the effort involved in tidying up miscasts is almost what it'd take to run through the scratchbuild.

You could have expressed that in a bit friendlier, less-sarcastic way. In the P&M forums, Rule #1 is even more important than elsewhere on the site, and we will enforce it with the Iron Boot of Politeness if necessary.

The guy used a stormraven kit,a Valkyrie kit, a Land Raider hull and 2 rhinos hulls with plasticard.
Personnaly 2 rhino hulls make the thing waaaay too long, one rhino is enough.
But 2 rhinos are perfect if you want to make a vehicle carrier TH.
Personnaly i'm using this;

In his defense, I don't see anything wrong with how he posted that...it was funny-sarcastic, not insulting-sarcastic.

The Thunderhawk is supposed to be able to carry two Rhinos or one Land Raider, so I don't think this is too long at all. It a lot better looking than the old flying brick Thunderhawk GW produced for Epic. If people wanted to complain about real world flyability, that was the one that made the Stormraven look sleek...

That Epic one is horrible!
The scratch buidl shown above (the 2 rhino one) does look way too long for the rest of the model. but that coudl be due to the Strormraven cockpit being too small for a proper T-Hawk?
Need to see that model next to something else for a size comparison.
Just looked at the size compaisrion for the FW T-Hawk, it's actually not as big as I thought it woudl be:
Based on this pic the model earlier in the thread just needs the body and wings to be shortened and it woudl be pretty much bang on.
