Alright, I dont know if the slovak helped any, so I am repeating in english.
You can repaint the models as-is, but the paint will be so thick that it blots out the detail, and it wont look good. You really should be stripping the model before repainting. If you are modifying the paint scheme with onyl one color, then its no big deal though.

If its metal - nail polish remover.

If its plastic - Dettol or similar. Others have used Fairy Power Spray and got good results.

Ultimately, depends on what it was painted with and if it is caked on or not.

Second time I'm posting this today, ironically enough. This has quite a wealth of information in it.

The trouble is I am willing to bet my unborn child's fortune that none of the products listed there are available in poland. =/ not sure what to recomend in lieu thereof because I dont know what's commercially availavble over there. And since companies are not usually in a habit of supplying their chemical foromula.... >_>

That does pose a problem, I think their may be a French alternative that's the same thing just in a yellow jug. I'm not sure though, not really up-to-date on my overseas cleaning products.

Im wondering if bleach also works? the risks are up front and obvious, and the chemical formula is... well.. Hydrogen Chloride...

Hydrogen PEROXIDE and various chlorides, actually.

Hydrogen chloride mixed with water gives you hydrochloric acid. Bleach is not hydrochloric acid.

Hydrochloric acid would certainly do the trick. Just make sure you use an acid proof container. You should also probably wear a full hazmat suit, and only use it on glass miniatures. I think acid has adverse effects on soft plastic.

Any kitchen cleaner with an 'All purpose' tag should do the trick. Look for ones with a nice picture of a sparkling kitchen. All purpose kitchen cleaner is less agressive than bleach or 'creme' foaming cleaner and is your best bet. Oven cleaner could be good as oven grease is chemically similar to Acryllic paint. Saying that i am not sure how strong oven cleaner is.

When you scrub at them chances are you will not remove all (won't touch spray primer) the paint but in my experience it only takes a little scrubbing to get them good enough for repainting. E.g.

I use Simple green. It takes longer but won't damage plastic if you leave it in for days (or months). Look for a cleaner with Butoxyethanol, as it's the active ingredient in Simple Green, Purple Power and Castrol Super clean.

It's also fairly non-toxic!

You can't just "look for a cleaner with Butoxyethanol" in it. That's not the only chemical in it. While it may be the active ingredient, the other chemicals might have destructive properties. While Simple Green may play nice with plastic minis, aanother brand of cleaner available in his area may have butoxyethanol and hydrochloric acid (for example) in it.

How about this, find a cleaner with Butoxethanol that's also non-toicx or nearly non-toxic and you should be fine. If it's not dangerous to your skin, it should be fine with plastic.

If there's any doubt, drop some sprue in there for a couple of days to see what happens.
