"Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods."

Agreed, the paint is thick. I would try watering down your paints and adding some highlights. But besides that good job, especially for not painting for that long.

The ultramarine hate is getting really old. If he wants to paint them bright pink it's his choice. I personally can't stand space wolves; their fluff, their models, or the vastly overpowered codex. But I don't go onto every space wolf thread and bash them.

Attention all space marine bashing neckbeards: Nobody cares what you have to say, so stop trying and go cry yourself to sleep. |

That's actually really nice weathering on the legs, looks decent. Really all it needs it highlights, but there isn't really anything bad on this model!

It depends what paint you're using and what stage of the paint job you're on really. Normally I water mine down until they're the consistency of full-fat milk. It takes a few layers to get decent coverage but you'll have a much smoother finish at the end. I'd also suggest you bash up the banner a bit. Maybe bend it a little, cut it, poke holes in it, give it a Devlan Mud wash, even burn it a bit! If you don't like what you've done to it you can always print out a new one!
I don't get the smurf hatred either. In fact some of the best marines I've ever seen were smurfs (guy on here had converted and painted a truescale squad of urban UMs, looked so gritty and "real").
