First of all, sorry if this is in the wrong section, but this looked the most appropriate.
My story begins as so. We were playing a game as a group, went as normal. I suddenly had to leave, as I had a bus to catch, and didnt have time to pack up. I asked my mate if he could look after them while I was gone, and he agreed to it. I have been informed today that after I left, one of them got drunk and decided to have a look at my models, and there is now a white penis, with red semen and enchanted blue veins on the side of my drop pod, and probably more that I don't know about. I know who did it, but Im asking here because I want to know just how far he overstepped the line.

Do you have access to simple green or dovanol to remove the paint from the plastic?
If so let him/her pay for it and remove the stuff.
Asking for an apology should also not be too much .
But I would not destroy a friendship because of something stupid like this.

The closest I have seen to that is when I used to play 'nids. I had a lictor (and we all know how much of a b*tch they are to build) in my room, and my brothers friend comes round (he's about 13). When I come back into me room, the lictor hads been literally disassembled, every limb was off, the head was off, and he put a cherry on the top I still haven't found one of it's scything talons!
Now I've make it into a looted lictor for my orks, but every time I see it it makes me angry.

Oh, I intend to get my apology! And while it is a fairly simple fix, I wouldn't put it past him to do it again, this time on one of my more detailed, and more time consuming to fix, models.
And yes, while it was a joke, I wasn't there. Hell, if he asked me, I probably would have said yes. I more have an issue with him vandalizing my stuff to impress everyone!

Well, this is certainly a unique case.
I wouldn't be too angry if it was me, it is an easy-to-fix problem though. You caould esily remove the paint or paint over it. Of course, asking for an apology is probably a good idea.
Though, tbh, I'm sure you'll all laugh about it later

In truth if he/she was one of my friends and did that to one of my models, they would either be dead or begging for mercy, I don't give a monkeys how drunk they were, we often drink when we game and the only pranks that are played, are on each other! If I had left or even fallen asleep/passed out and they had drawn something on my face I would find it hilarious! But when it comes to our models, that we put so much time, money and above all else, effort into, there is no excuse! Not for me! Not to mention that the person you asked to look after them, really should of looked after them!
P.s I think this may get a little heated so I would advice caution on all fronts!

Get over it. It's not a matter of national security, didn't infect you with a terminal disease, or no one dies. It's a penis on the side of your drop pod. Make a joke out of it, maybe paint a butt right in front of it with some appropriate smack-talk.
Deal with it like a man.

In my gaming group there is about 6 of us that all go to tournaments together, we all paint of each others models with stupid things but only in places it cant really be seen. At the last tournament my friend took razorspam and on the underside of every tank we drew a penis with varying degrees of detail, we also included his phone number and an advert about him, As we all do it we know the levels that would annoy us so dont go beyond that.

Maybe it would be alright if it was done to one of the less serious armies (grot rebels or orks in general), but on a drop pod... I'm sure there's something heretical about that.

Considering how long it takes me to get models, clean them, assemble them, and paint them, my friends wouldn't dare deface them. It's a rather vile and unfriendly thing to do.
Just make it clear that he is not to it again, and if he does, bad things will happen.

Going back many, many years, when GW released their very first plastic set (no, not RTB-01, but the plastic Skeleton Legion), I had painted one of them particularly well and was very pleased with myself (I was 9).
I left the skellie on the workbench in the hobby room at school and when I came back someone had very obviously taken a wooden mallet and smashed the whole thing into smithereens.
Well over twenty-five years later I can still feel the sense of hurt and betrayal that someone had treated something of mine, which I had built and into which I had poured my very best effort, with such callous and malicious violence.
Now I know who it was and I know why he did it and, although he never apologised or admitted his deed, I completely forgive him. In fact, the whole episode led to my current attitude that 99% of the time a broken mini, however beautiful and precious, can either be painted or can be reused and is, ultimately, just another step towards the next, even better mini. As a professional painter, I'm often asked if it doesn't hurt to see minis I've painted go off to some distant client. But it really doesn't. And if they decided that my work would be improved by the addition of a crude phallus, then that's their issue and they should probably discuss it with their psychiatrist.
The fact remains, though, that I was hurt by the mistreatment of my skellie. And you've been hurt by the mistreatment of not only your drop pod, but also by the lack of respect shown towards not only your possessions but also your effort and your hobby. Your friend(s) should be contrite and apologetic and offer - in the cold light of sobriety - to make amends for their childishness (and for the preposterous cliche of it, too; I mean, seriously? a spurting dick? Are they eight?).
If they aren't contrite, show no inclination to apologise and make no effort to repay their vandalism then, whilst the incident itself may be a small thing in the big picture, it should be seen as indicative of a more serious lack of character in your "friends" and a warning that you should probably find new ones who are mature enough to know that dick jokes aren't funny.
R.

Don't take this the wrong way, but a pretty big factor here is, to what standard do you paint your minis?
If somebody painted a dong on something I painted when I was 12, I wouldn't really care. If they doodled anything on a mini on which I spent a lot of time painting it to a high standard, I'd be very, very angry.

Hmm, I think if you're old enough to legally buy alcohol, then you're old enough to know that:
1. Dick jokes aren't funny and
2. Interfering with someone else's property like that is not on.
I wouldn't be massively pissed off, but I would also probably re-evaluate my need to socialise with someone who thinks that is acceptable.

I think the principal is the real issue here, not the quality of the paintjob. If an aplogy is not forthcoming, may I present you with a non-violent way of gaining a modicum of satisfaction?? Green Prawns. That is, uncooked ones. Find interesting and cunning locations around the house/car to hide them in. Curtain Rods, under the fridge, tucked up under the dashboard. Just one, here and there. He won't be hosting too many 'piss ups' when his general prescence is hailed as "The guy who smells like a 'Sardines Butt'. It's all about how your property was left in his care and blatantly vandalised. Oh, and for the *Individual* stating 'Man Up' - Sounds like something my pre-pubescent cousin would say in an effort to seem more 'Worldly'. = Fail. They REEK, bad, in about 3-4 days.

I would say yes.
Friendship equates to a measure of mutual respect, if nothing more. He disrespected your property.
Fix the issue with the model yourself and find a new friend. Kick him to the kerb. You don't need friends like that when enemies are easier to find.

I would be pretty angry in that situation.
Whether it is worth breaking up a beautiful friendship is another thing.
I would just tell your friend you've pissed off, and why, and fix up the model.
If you handle things gently, you can probably get the knob off without muck going everywhere. You may need to do a bit of touching up.
Acetone free nail polish and cotton buds are what I would try. If the model was varnished it will be easier.

In the end it all depends on how you feel about it after some time has passed.
I would not repay in kind if somone did that to me. Revenge wont make you feel any better and a huge conflict in the gaming group wont also.

Don't take revenge, don't force him to do anything. Let him, and the rest of the group, know just how you felt about seeing that. Tell them, in serious terms, exactly how much you paid, and how long you worked on that drop pod. Ask them how they'd feel if you painted a vagina onto the top of one of their tanks. Don't treat it as a joke, don't let it slide.
If they're actually your friends? They'll apologize, without prompting. If not, they're not your friends. Don't hang around them anymore, make it clear why. Once again, if they then come forward to apologize, feel free to forgive them. If not, then it's their loss of you to hang out with.
It wasn't just the fault of the guy who did the actual painting. It's all their faults, since they didn't stop him. Hell, they were probably egging him on.
And like Discotzeench, I generally wouldn't hang around with guys that drink, especially not if they still have the sort of sense of humor that thinks painting dicks on things is funny. If you want to drink, fine, but at least be able to hold your liquour enough to realize when things are getting out of hand.
