Well, this is my first thread here on Dakka(not counting introductions), just thought I'd share some of the things I'm working on. Everything is in a state of work in progress, but eventually I hope to have it all done. Let me know what you think.

Note, this is my first time attempting to take pics, so I apologize for any poor picture quality.

I still have a bit more greenstuff work to do to him, I need to finish the exhaust stacks and disguise the toothpick shoulder spikes (make them less obvious as toothpicks) but he's on his way.
I also have a Landraider I've been working on for about a month now that is in about the same stage of conversion, except that I just started the greenstuff on it.
Also a couple of squads of Chaos Marines and Terminators... plus a Vindicator. I'll add more to the army after I get some of these finished.

Well, that's what I'd call a nice Dreadnought! Excellent job here!

I think this thread starts promisingly, and deserves to be followed.

Do you have pics of your other WIPs?

Excellent conversion work so far! Can't wait to see pics of that LR.

I have to say, that is a damn fine job

Only one suggestion: straighten up some the edges on those GS armour details (e.g. lascannon star details)

Thanks guys.

@Hyenajoe- I don't really have any pics of my other stuff just yet, but the will follow soon...

@SickSick- The LandRaider is going to be shot soon, and if you like scratch built additions you'll like it I think... for now lets just say that non functioning plastic DVD players have their uses....

@Leigen_Zero- My GS skills are definately in need of improvement, and I've been working on fixing things like that since I saw the first pics of it on here. Enlarged macro pics really show off your problem areas don't they?

@TheChronoTrigger- Paint will come eventually, but it may be some time yet... damn my low budget. Haven't bought paints yet, but when I get some extra money, that's where it's goin.

@OP: Don't be so harsh on yourself, better than anything I can put out! With straight edges and GS, the only thing I have found to make it easier is to roll the GS out on a sheet of clingfilm (or US equivalent, IIRC you guys call it seran-wrap or something?) and then let it set a bit, then cut out straight edges with ruler+knife, then just apply it to area in question.

Looking forward to paint!

Your GSing skills are good enough IMO. It's never easy to get something rally strait and flat on this kind of job. Have you ever tried plastic card?

Actually haven't found plastic card in my area at least not in stock. Wouldn't mind working with it, but I can't cut a straight line to save my life. Anyways... I'll try to get some more pics up tomorrow.

Incredible work so far! Most chaos dreadnought conversions seem so lazy but this looks great!

One question, is the tubing on the body guitar wire?

I think this is a really spot on conversion, great work with the green stuff. you'll have to show me how you did it.

Yes Snarky, it's guitar string... the E string I believe. If you plan on using guitar string in any of your work, just keep in mind that it's very stiff in small sections, and that you have to over bend it to make it hold the shape that you want. And thanks.

Thanks Tech Guard. Most of the greenstuff you can see in my pics here have been cut and sanded. That's it. I put it on in rolls about the size that I think I'll need, but when I'm done shaping it it's too much... too tall or wide. So out comes the file and hobby knives.

And now for more pics... first an update of my Dreadnought... small changes I think. And then some pics of my Land Raider. The blue extra armor panels used to be a DVD player. Sorry about the shadows and blurry pics...

The idea for the extra armor came together when I was looking for ideas on Forge World... I like the extra armor they made for the Loyalist Marines, but they don't have anything like that for Chaos.
And since the thought of spending $30 just to make major changes to it is anything but appealing, when my sons DVD player died I knew what to do with it.

The Las-cannon Chain-swords are another idea I borrowed from FW... I figured if they have them on the Dreadnoughts Las-cannon arms then I can put them here.

Great job on the dread so far, chaos dreads are always awesome! Looking forward to seeing some normal CSM too, when might we see that?

Thanks Limbo... as far as the regular CSM squads go... should be soon. I have some assembled, just not detailed yet.

I do have a problem though, if anyone can help. I need some Boltgun Metal paint, yet the FLGS was all out. Anyone know if mixing Chainmail and Chaos Black will work and if so in what proportions?

Really nice work, JoeyHeadwounds. As other posters have commented, don't worry too much about straight lines on the GS- it's amazing what a little paint and shading will hide.

The dread looks great with the torso-cover-plate not on the interred marine, btw. Those gut details are much cooler than the armor.

And the lascannon chainswords are the ind of silly "baroque" that makes 40K so great. Way to go, and if you don't mind I may copy that for my 'Zerkers ride in the near future.

Infinity: Way, way better than 40K and more affordable to boot!

@ Savnock- Feel free to duplicate borrow or steal any ideas that you may find in my work. After all, I did the same thing.

And I actually did go with the torso armor... couldn't come up with a way to change the marine body to my liking... maybe on a future one.

He's in primer now by the way.

Well, it's been a couple of weeks since I posted anything in here, but I've finally gotten around to getting some pictures taken of some more of my stuff.

First up are some shots of one of my Khorne Berserkers. He's not finished, still has some GS work needed and I'm not sure what I want to do for the Legions shoulder pads... whether I want to try sculpting the iconography on blanks, or just pony up the cash for the GW ones. Anyways, here he is.

And last, I have three updated pic of my converted Dreadnought. As you can see I have started paint on him, but I have much more to do to. But at least it's a start.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
@ TheChronoTrigger- Thanks, as far as paint goes it'll probably be a while yet. As you can see from what I have on here... I'm a bit of a spazzer. I tend to bounce from on project to another, and it's difficult for me to stay focused on one project till it's done.

@ spookman- Like I said before the Las-cannon Chain-swords are a idea I borrowed from FW... I figured if they have them on the Dreadnoughts Las-cannon arms then I can put them here. But I'm glad people like it.

these are awesome!

the only bummer is that from the side, the dread has somewhat of a static pose, but i can see how it would be extremely difficult to reposition the legs of it without having to more or less reconstruct new ones. i blame that on GW. the chaos symbol on the side of the TLC's look great, and i'm also really liking the new legs on the berzerkers.

can't wait to see more!
