What about the guy around this forum that sculpted his own fungi warriors? Not trees, but the are sort of woodland-y, right? They might make suitable treekin. Maybe he will sell casts?

I liked them, but mushroom men might need a whole new army
built around them. Like Wood Dwarfs or something.

Think people will mind if I clump some dryads on a 40mm
base and call it a treekin? That's about all I like from gw's
tree spirit models these days.

I remember some guy who used all the branches from Dryad kits to make some nice, gnarled Treekins...

I'm pretty sure it was here on Dakka, something along "all plastic Treekin WE Army", he had Drycha the Hamadryad, Treekins, Dryads, it was pretty nice...

thanks ^^ keep in mind that these were made from left overs in the dryad box. you can make about 2-3 per box and still have all your dryads

I never actually did anything with treemen or thelike, so this might be the worst idea ever, but here it goes:

Why not go outside, collect a few sticks of proper size, superglue them, and model or glue some leftover head?

I made mine by cutting the head of a glade rider horse and putting a dryad in its place, then bulked it out a little with green stuff and bits from the dryad box.

Of course that thing is only really good as a treeman.

Maybe I'll get bear models for treekin.

I used LoTR line because i was afraid GW wouldnt let me play in their bunkers :'<
though i failed at measuring the base didnt even end up as a square -_-

I reckon it would be easy to my some.
If you can make a tree then treekin should be not much more of a problem.

Got the bases, and the wire, just need the time and motivation.

I'm planning to use old treemen as treekin, much better imho - I think the current treekin are the worst GW minis available.

As for the treeman, i dont rate the GW one, the older metal ents were ok as is treebeard. Given the choice I think I like the Ultraforge one best.
