Good work on the cockpit. Liking all the details.

Nice pose. Look forward to how that turns out.

Good fluff too.

Thanks Yellowbeard and Dr H

I am planning on doing hands that are a slightly lower tech looking version of something like this:

I hope to tie this in with the rest of the samurai style armour by adding traditional looking gloves/wrist armour:

I really want the armour to look like it is removable - armour that is able to be taken off between battles and repaired, with replacement parts hooked into place. It makes sense to me that something like a Knight with so many moving parts exposed to fire would need armour that is well fitting meaning that damaged parts would have to regularly be swapped out to stop them fouling the motion of the Knight. This is especially the case with the smaller armour parts and I think it really suits the Samurai style armour which is made up of multiple small plates.

Silver, did you ever finish your true-scale marine army? I was just curious as I was following it for a possible next project after.....finish my BA army, finish my second terrain table, finishing my 5+ terrain pieces that need paint, finish my Bolt Action Army....uhh and probably 8 more projects due to my ADD

Haha! I know the feeling!

I have not finished them, but I have about 20-30 of them mostly assembled and just waiting for details to be added before painting. They are probably number 3 or 4 on my to do list after the knight, my eldar and possibly kaladrax as he just needs a little bit doing to finish one wing and then painting.

Cheers Mike

Got most of the main assembly done on the body, and working on the hands and sword and gun. Also trying to figure out exactly how to samurai things up in terms of armour

Run out of blazing orange mix for my eldar so mixed some up from different colours and think it is pretty close. Also had a play with some of the anarchy model stencils - pretty good but my paint had a bit too much flow improver I think

So, I decided to press on with some Eldar tanks after fixing (kind of... it is now a little too thick and kept on gunking up my airbrush - possibly a combination of using a GW foundation paint as my starting point and spraying a large amount of paint) my paint mixture. Have to say that I am reasonably happy with the results so far - need a wash to hit the recesses, some dirtying up of the engine intakes (and perhaps leading edges?) and all the detailing doing but we are getting there

Really happy with how well the Anarchy Models stencils worked out. Some of the smaller ones will have a very limited number of uses before they die (mostly as I was using some quite fiddly shaped ones which were really thin) but the rest should be good for longer.

The full group with all the stencils I used:

Cheers monkeytroll. Yeah, they kept the paint out well and are really easy to use. Just wish there was a little bit more variation in the pack I got and that there were a few more generic swirls and spirals etc.

Looking good buddy. The basecoat Orange came out really nicely.

Buy a bottle, just one, of Minitaire airbrush paints. You will NEVER have a clogged brush again.

Keep up the awesomeness buddy

Hmmm... Never heard of that range before! Would you say they were better than VMA?

I bought the entire range.
Wargammer Jay does a full review on his YouTube channel. You can also brush it on.

VMA has a nice line up but Minitaire is imo the clear winner. Bottle size, color range, price etc.

Just buy one bottle, trust me

I appear to have failed to comment on the orange-ness. Nice scheme. Good job. I like those kind of designs.

Knew there was someone who I hadn't seen in a while

That does look like a nice orange.

And Jack the Bodiless looks like he'll be fun to paint.

Yeah, been too cold over winter to sit in the utility room and paint

The dwarf bust is from scibor and is about 22cm tall in total, with the head being about 10cm

Little more work on the dwarf bust - modulated the skin a little and have started on the face details. I plan to fully paint the face before masking it off and doing the beard.

Cheers - it is actually really easy to paint as it is so detailed the colours are really easy to place

Almost there now - a little more work on the beard, some cleaning up around a few places where I have manages to put paint where it should not be, etc, then a nice copper/gold to go on the beard rings.

Pants picture but I brought it upstairs to show my wife and the light is pants

Because D weapons are better than friends (apparently!). Fully magnetic with all options and a break at the waist for ease of transport/storage. Kept a lot of the gubbins off as I wanted a sleeker looking model.

What would really help with that impression would be some basing- if you can get a little bit of a ground-layer on that base, and put in both a small skid-mark behind the foot and some piled-up dirt in front of it (or cobblestones or whatever), that would seriously help with the feeling of 'halting' forwards movement.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

I was leaving the basing until after I had done the majority of the painting, but I like your thinking!

Well, work is progressing on at least some of the millions of ongoing projects I have...

Kings Of War goblin army, with trolls to be used as part of a larger combined orc and goblin army. This in turn will be part of a larger "evil" army with my Abyssal army arriving at some point next year.

The armies will be winter themed, with the Abyssals from the Ice Peaks themselves "Children of Winter"), and the orcs, goblins and trolls from the far northern steppes. All forged into a force to rekindle (if one can use the term!) Winter's grasp on the world.
