How about finding out that the sequel to an RTS that you were really looking forward to requires STEAM, the night before you're about to go buy it? That's the whole reason I will never touch Dawn of War 2, and now I just found out I can never play Supreme Commander 2, either. All because those dipsh*ts at Gas Powered Games decided to make it require Steam. I f***ing HATE Steam!

Certainly few/no anti-personnel weapons we currently employ. They are too tough, don't really suffer system shock, are unlikely to merely bleed out, have multiple redundant organs, and than wrap all that up in stupid amounts of non-encumbering armour.

So, Anti-Tank, High Explosive etc.

Question is, what could take down a Space Marine before he knobbles it first?

Hmm... How about buying a 50 dollar Half-Life 2 GOTY edition set, looking forward to playing it, and then finding out that to play it I have to download a spyware program called Steam that makes me log on to the internet to play it, makes me download a metric sh*t-ton of unrelated updates before I can play, and then because of Steam's sh*tty servers the game lags to the point of being unplayable? How about looking forward to DoW2 and then finding out it requires this sh*tpile of a program to play it? How about, the NIGHT BEFORE I'M GOING TO BUY IT, the sequel to my favorite RTS turns out to be *gasp* a Steam game? And how about all the other people out there who have their own horror stories to tell? That's why the hatred for Steam(ing pile of SH*T!).

As for Spartans. I think they win on reflexes too, when carrying an AI the power armor gets additional boosts(novels), as for speed, book says they can run like 80-100 km/h. And strenght? They can flip a Scorpion Main Battle tank(game wise)! They survived an over 500 meter fall ( can't remember precise height) Standard Weaponry is indeed lacking... so give them one of those Energy Blades, Gravity hammer.. For ranged battle.. My bet is on Fuel Rod Gun or just break off a missile pod... But yea, with standard equipment their only chance is Sniping (wich they rock at btw, Upside down one handed, hanging from a rope Headshot anyone? (novel)) I think people are comparing the Game chief (legendary difficulty) to fluff marines. Where as in the novel Spartans are powerfull enough to compare to the games easy mode. Also.. Puny Spartans? The Master Chief stands about seven feet (2.13 m) tall and weighs 1,000 pounds (450 kg) in armor and trust me, he's not the biggest. I've read of similar sizes for Space Marines(though I never find the correct measurements). Spartans also have extremely enhanced bone structures (think wolverine strenght bones). Also, this is all about the Spartan-II project. There were also Spartan-III's (slightly weaker, crappier equipment but with stealth tech) wich were made as an expendable version of the Spartan-II's. Also, all spartans are the masters of sticking you with grenades.

Oh and hunters wouldn't stand a chance against a SM, They are to slow and cumbersome, easily outmaneuvered, and the armor has some very obvious weak spots. That said, if they land a shot or a hit with the shield its probably game over, just never gonna happen.

As for Elites... pretty much same as Spartans, but lacking certain weapons expertise, are to much stuck to their honour, and dont have AI's. The white preatorians in halo 2 would have a good shot at them tough.. those bastards were tough.

OH, warthog Gauss Cannon would decimate SM armor.
