More Dennis o'Neil, Giordano, Novick and Englehart writing style with a definate Aparo and Adams slant towards the art and stories IMO.

Speaking of Batman Cartoons I see 'ole Terry McGinnis is back with his own series Batman Beyond. I wonder if it will be good. A thumb through should less than impressive art.

Is anyone else excited for the events of DC Universe online to potentially tie into the actual continuity of the DC Comics? Jim Lee has explicitly stated his interest in this, as he believes it to be the best way to connect with fans of DC.
I'm not the biggest fan of DC myself (Though I've read all the essential Batman comics, as well as some Green Lantern), but this might just be the spark of interest that I needed to get into them. I remember my very favorite part of City of Heroes was that they tied the community into the monthly comic book, and often featured characters created by the players.
If DC pulls this off (despite having numerous flaws in the continuity to work around), I think it will be absolutely amazing.

I was going to try it, but I'm afraid I just won't find the time to play an MMO.

I will. So far it has promise, and the villain of the current arc seems rather sympathetic. It's certainly better than the Hush Rehash (ReHush?) that was the mini-series that lead into the ongoing.

So Reds8n (or anyone) you mentioned you read some Abnett and Lanning. Have you read Annihilation? I'm thinking of picking up the trades and I thought I figured out what to get but It's confusing. AFAIK it goes:
Annihilation: prologe
Annihilation TPBs # 1,2,3. Which are the core books
but then I saw Annihilation Nova, Annihilation Conquest and Nova ongoing that's confusing me now. Anybody know the order of these things?

I'm in pretty much the exact same boat.
AFAIK the other books are like extended scenes that fit in between some of the issues of the main story... but where/when I'm not that sure.
There's a list of sorts on the inside cover of some of the trades.... but that might be where you're getting the above from anyway.
GotG has been ace though, even with my somewhat sketchy knowledge of Warlock/Magus and Thanos.

Got my info from wikipedia. There's many sites dedicated to the discusion of space marines but doesn't seem like there's a good comic book info one where you can keep up on the latest news. Oh well. I'll just get Anihilation prologue and #1 for now and hopefully that'll shed some light on the situation.
GotG = Guardians of The Galaxy and is ongoing now?

Bought some more stuff.
- Deadpool now has a regular book in Germany. The first story was the one where he wants to become a Pirate. It was nice, but not as good as Merc with a Mouth or Suicide Kings.
- Read the first 5 issues of Thor by JMS. Quite entertaining, I'll probably read more of that.
- Because Deadpool was in it, I bought Cable / X-Force: The Messia War. Not sure if I like the idea that Scott Summers has a Black Ops killer commando strike team. And boy, this thing is violent. Anyone else read more of X-Force. I'm still slightly interested, though I don't really care about most of the members.
btw.... you have a Teleporting Mutant. Call him "Telford Porter" and his mutant name is Vanisher? Really Marvel? Really??

.. I know it's makes me a heretic but I really don't get the Deadpool love/obsession so many people have. Strikes me just as a rip off of the old "Quantum and Woody" series mixed with a bit of Lobo. Still if it floats your boat I guess.
Brightest Day and JLI Generation Lost are both coming together nicely. Must gather up all the issues and have a thorough read through soon.
In other news.. seems the Wonder Woman Tv show IS happening, 'bless NBC.
And, never thought I'd see this happen but Wizard magazine is gone ?. Can't say I'm upset as I (still) despise the push towards limited edition and sealed NM still in bag never read speculator boom from the 90s, which Wizard was both a symptom and a cause of. But it's always sad to hear of people losing their jobs, and the magazine has kick started a whole lot of careers and did have its moments.
This week we also see the death of one of the Fantastic Four.... which has been kept quite secret AFAIK. My money is on Ben Grimm biting the bullet, big strong guys are easier to replace on a team than any of the others I reckon.

I was about to say Germany is a bit behind. North America is experiencing a bit of Deadpool fatigue right now. I think he somehow got up to six books there and I think there's a bit of a backlash now. The bad thing is he's nowhere near as good as when Joe Kelly did the original run back in the day.
I hate it when anything breaks the 4th wall and Deadpool has sadly become this scizophrenic 4th wall buster extraodinaire. I've dropped all my Deadpool titles which is a shame: He used to be one of my favorite characters. Automatically Appended Next Post: Wizard is gone!? NO!? I can't believe it. I used to really like it but its true that it hasn't been the same in the last few years. A lot of the humor seemed lacking - I think some parralels could be drawn between Wizard and White Dwarf. Back in the day it seemed like a bunch of guys just making a magazine about stuff they liked and having a good time doing it but in the latter years it seemed much more controlled and commericial.
Still I'd rather have it around than not have it. I was just bemoaoning the lack of places to get comic book news and this ain't gonna help the situation.

Yeah, comic book deaths are meaningless. Still not thrilled about Steve Rodgers being alive.
There's an online site for Wizard now but it sucks. It's like it's just advertising.

The Wonder Woman thing is nowhere near set in stone. NBC ordered a pilot, that's all. They still have no cast or crew for it.
Best case: the show takes off, we get a pilot and an actual series.
Worst case: A pilot is filmed and we'll occasionally see bootlegs of it crop up.

Yeah, JL: Generation Lost has been consistently excellent and is probably the book I most look forward to sinking my teeth in to. Brightest Day is starting to comer into focus, but it's pacing was a mess to begin with, and it still seems like a whole bunch of disconnected stories that don't interact much. I am wondering who get's to be the new White Lantern that it seems to be building towards though.
I suspect Dove, but I'd hope Johns could throw us a better curve ball than that one.
