Ok everyone I promised HAZZER the resources I get my skills from. I thought I could paint well but my steps was all over the place and spent too much time on one figure when I needed to paint my whole army quickly and neatly for a tabletop quality army. So almost 2 years ago when I started this thread I found out about Les Bursley on youtube to actually help fasteddie paint faster and instead it actually helped me out too ! He actually refined my steps and stop me from being all over the place.
Then later read a article in White Dwarf from Jervis Johnson on painting the HQ and elites to a higher standard because you want them to stand out away from the troops. All this help me set a basic tabletop quality troops and a better then tabletop quality paint job on my HQ and Elites. So this is my standard because I wanted to get my troops on the table quickly.
Remember this is my view and no way be set in stone and you should follow your way and just improve on your skill like I did with every figure and model.
Ok I will list the order of sites I found on my journey to now and hope all this sites help you.
1. Awsomepaintjob.com http://www.youtube.com/user/awesomepaintjob This site really helped me in the begining. Remember even if he does not have your chapter of marines use the same concepts just
change the color and viola.
2. The Painting Corps. this site I found from the link from Les's site and I love Grey_Death's (yes we have the same name )

to the cleanness and speed I found this site from Marneus Agusta Calgar I believe. But this site helped me more on my airbrush
techniques.
Ok here is another site but it is in japanese but you will get the picture by just watching it. thanks for the links ive been using the top 3 as well some nice tecniques up there, on thing you could try is CMDante i find myself using alot of his stuff he is amazing he can sculpt and paint, plus i use an alteration of his skin tecnique which involves using Dheneb Stone with the skin since its not as orangy or pink as the other skin colors

@Skalk yea it looked like it was greenstuff when it was bare, primed, based and finished lol it's the way he sculpted it. It is so bulky and well ....greenstuff Oh well even with the washing and highlights it still look the same

Hey everyone I finally got back on the saddle and back painting my neglected Ravenwing .
So I have tons of distractions this weekend from UFC to F1 so I gotta get snappin!!
I got my assembly line going and trying to finish most of the bikes done this weekend and maybe recruit Fasteddie to build my landspeeder (I really hate building) .

Hey everyone and Happy Halloween ! Ok here is a small update on my RW and did not get very far as I planned . But manage to get a robed marine sorta done and I still have alot of details on him yet.
I got the legs on the bike and the lighting effects on the head lamp done but still tons to do. So here is what I got done.
Coming along very nicely, are you doing any highlighting to the black at all?

I absolutely love the way you did the sword! it looks like a glossy obsidian blade of agonizing death! and if the glow from the lamps looks anything like the effect on Fasteddie's rhino, then these bikes are just going to be such a nice centre piece squad, roaring down the battlefield chasing the fallen and trying not to get there crisp bone bath robes dirty

Thanks NF09! Man I got tons of work.on them still but getting closer to the finish line.
Ok folks here is a small update. I got the guys assembled and mounted on the bikes and pinned the bikes to most of the bases bit one.
So here you guys go let me k.ow what you think.
looks sweet man the slight dusting of dirt looks nice, as do the chipped paint

RW Thanks for checking in on my threads ! Yea trying to seperate the rider and the bike and not have him washed/blend in with the bike. I still got tons of work to do on the squad and trying to accomplish Brother Argos's style with mine on this RW project. Please check his thread even though he is in stasis for a while it is still good reading and inspiration.

looking great man! I really hope you're closer now to finishing them? I can't wait to see them done! black is such a pita colour/shade to paint well, and attempting to differentiate the intensity of the tones is a big call for anyone to do, but if anyone can do it, it's you!
