Nothing says you couldn't do a little ally force of Blood Agels there Adamski.

Sanguinary High Priest leading some Sanguinary Guard with a small tactical squad in a drop pod coming to lend aid to their Ultramarine brethren. Same thing with a Chaplain leading a squad of Death Company instead of Sanguinary High Priest + Sanguinary Guard.

Could work very well I think.

Thoughts to ponder anyway. More updates forthcoming in the next couple of days. Take it easy for now,

I use silver for my grenades also. I think it works quite well as I use green for cloth, lenses and laurel type bling.

RT, are you active on the Bolter and Chainsword? They're running an interfaction painting event from May for 3 months, fancy throwing some paint down with your BA brothers? Here's a link to the details:

I do have an account over on the B&C just rarely post over there. I'll go check it out though as it looks like a good way to motivate & stay motivated. Thanks for the link there EDC! Do you post under the same moniker over on B&C by the way? Just curious.

Take it easy.

I do indeed. Hope to see you in the event, we've got about a month to prepare (get everything built and primed).

More details in the link I posted, but it is a great motivator and the community spirit is high for the event.

Well, it seems my B&C account is no longer working (ancient old e-mail I used to create the account I can't seem to access) and I cannot create a new account either.

I'll see if I can sort it out later when I'm not at work, but I might have to forgo the option sadly, assuming I can't get my old account info reset. I'll try again later but unless they open it up to allow new accounts I may be stuck for the time being.

C'est-la-vie. More on that later. Take it easy for now EDC. If I can get access to my old e-mail I'll reset my account password and get on there.

Take it easy for now.

-Red__Thirst-

Update! I got it to work! Will be chiming in shortly on B&C. Perseverance wins the day.

Update after a good couple of hours of painting.

I'm always shocked at how quickly the time goes and how little I have to show for it on average, painting my Blood Angels to the degree and level of detail I am. I'm literally (on most of these, anyway) painting each piece of the miniature by itself completely and then assembling the model as I go starting with the base. Some of the minis are sub-assembled, being old models that I'm re-purposing to new ends, but the vast majority have been or are going to be complete paint and assemble as I go outside of gluing the front and back of the torsos together, etc.

It's amazingly satisfying seeing the completed, or in this post's case, nearly completed miniature taking shape. That said, in two hours I basically finished painting the arm and chainsword, attached it, then painted both left and right shoulder pads and attached each as I completed them. Granted, the bits are rather detailed and required some fine minutia detail painting, but still. I've got to work out a faster method.

Now, all that's left to finish off this model is to paint, then attach the jump pack, and I'll have the first five man squad of Death Company completed and can move on to the next project.

Here's the progress:

I like how this pose has come out as well, I hope with the jump pack attached it'll look like he's leaping skyward, just about to activate his jump pack's engines.

More updates forthcoming over the next couple of days I hope. Take it easy for now.

Another update, and a somewhat special one, as with this I have finished off the first bank of 5 Death Company.

Take a look.

I will take a group shot of all five finished Death Company tomorrow and post it as it's own update.

Next up on the chopping block will be one of a pair of different Sergeants I need to work on (will likely coin flip to decide which I work on) and then I'll delve back into painting black again and knock out my Lemartes mini I intend to run with this squad.

More to come soon. Take it easy for now folks and thanks for looking.

And with the flash on.

One more brief update.

Work has begun on the next marine, a tactical squad sergeant decked out in mark IV power armor. Most bits taken from the current Blood Angels tactical squad box with a few pilfered parts from the Betrayal at Calth set (helm, and one shoulder pad).

Here's the current progress:

And the base.

Thanks for looking. More updates to come as progress is made.

I love that group shot, to me it looks like the Sgt is simply saying "get em boys" or "Oi you! You're next" and the squad is already on the way.

Can't wait to see more of the new dude.

Thank you for that, Adamski.

The current marine is going to be my first Tactical Squad sergeant, decked out in a mostly complete set of Mk IV Astartes power armor, and armed with a combi-flamer and lightning claw.

The head and base are finished. The legs and torso will be by this weekend I expect, and then I'll get the arms and shoulder pads finished up in short order before knocking the back pack out and that'll be 2 of the first five man tactical squad completed.

Further updates to come. Take it easy for now.

One more quick follow up. I completed the torso (Fairly easy piece to paint) and got it and the already completed helmet attached. Here's a quick dry-fit showing the planned loadout and pose.

I am a big fan of the box. So many cool and interesting bits to use. Comes with an excellent heavy flamer and heavy bolter too (With the box mag, not the ammo belt).

I'm about to work on this lightning claw I base coated last night for a bit before work this afternoon. It's a Fairly basic bit compared to the other arm with the combi-flamer. Won't take too long to paint up I don't expect.

More updates pending. Take it easy for now folks.

Thanks for that War Kitten. No pictures as yet (currently at work) but I will mention that I have finished off and attached the Lightning claw at present. I'm probably going to go ahead and take care of the chapter symbol left shoulder pad and get it attached before moving on to the right arm & combi-flamer.

Hopefully I'll have the Sergeant wrapped up by the end of this week and can move on to the first of the three remaining bolter marines left to paint for this demi-squad. Probably going to continue the full armor mark theme and do the next model up as a Mark VI beaky marine. We'll see.

Updated pictures to come. Take it easy for now.

It's fairly basic, more-so than I'd like to be honest. It's a layer of bright silver (The old Mithril Silver color) with a simple Blue Wash over it (The old Asurmen Blue wash).

I may go in and add some more details and another wash to the claw to give it an energy effect. We'll see.

I'm going to get the left shoulder pad taken care of next and then move on to the right arm & shoulder pad. After that It'll be finish the backpack and one more mini down.

Hopefully that helps you with painting your Lightning Claws there War Kitten, Take it easy,

Thank you all for the kind words.

I'm currently working on both shoulder pads and then will begin work on the right arm and combi-flamer once I get the shoulders buttoned up.

Each mini is an involved process with the added details but I am enjoying that process tremendously despite the added time it's taking.

Back at it here for now. Take it easy and more updates will be posted once I make some solid progress.
