Good summary. Thanks for it!

My thoughts:
Ted is awesome, and his armies are gorgeous.

I am totally bummed that I missed The Colonial this year for the second time. Having it and Adepticon on back-to-back weekends sucks.

Your list looks awesome, and kind of makes me want to play daemons. I love that you use Letters for troops and thus everything in your army can actually kill stuff.

You should take some damn pics! And host them on Dakka! I know a lot of your reports are really short summaries, but they get the point across, and would be extra-nice with pics.

Agreed. We need to get yermon a camera of some form! I'd bet his bat reps would be that more impressive!

Good report I need to work on mine hopefully tonight. Just been really busy.

I lent yermom my extra camera for Conflict and he didn't take very many pictures. He's welcome to borrow it any time we both go to a GT though.

If you want pictures of Colonial here are the pictures of the 40k Armies I took

Nick!
Our game was great fun, even if you did kick my butt soundly.

Next time however I will have my new Wolf army in action, then we shall see...(who am I kidding, you will probably kick my butt again)

Looking forward to the next Tournament already.

That is a ballsy list Tony runs. Yours is brutal, though, and I rather felt like you knew how his works better than he knew how yours does. Or maybe it was just that his options were limited when he pulled that multicharge and lost.

How do you feel about Daemonettes? I'm getting half-tempted to try out a Daemons list, but it would have t be Slaanesh-centered.

Well played Yermom!
I feel bad for your opponent though: taking a Khorne Army to a tournament and then get beaten in the assault phase :-)

I like your list as well. The MSU approach is refreshing when it comes to Daemons. How did the huge unit of Seekers perform? I like the idea, but I fear the footprint of that unit is soo huge that mishaps are bound to happen. Like in game 2: your opponent killed two Bloodletter squads but left the one with the Icon untouched. Had he managed to kill that unit in stead of the other two, I can immagine you'd have been forced to deploy the Seekers in a much more conservative manner?

Thanks for these BatReps.

Thanks Mannahnin! And, I'd certainly agree with that statement. I often feel people really don't know how to play aginst a demon army, much less one that varies fromt he standard builds as much as mine does.

Demonettes are solid. They are a fine troop choice, and fleet really puts them into a whole different realm of speed than bloodletters. The reason I don't run them is I already have enough rending and such, but what I don't have is power wepons. The bloodletters make the difference against termies and stuff, and just 1 unit charging will kill 5 THSS termies which is huge.

Clithian- Round three should be up by toorrow afternoon! nd yeah the seekers have an enormous foot print and I hate it. The good thing is I can drop them 30" away in safety, and between their footprint and run I'm almost guaranteed a charge next turn. The unit single handidly won mt game 5. And in game 4 it was the anvil I needed when most of my other forces were destroyed. The unit really pulled its weight any game in which i needed it.

Rough, rough matchup. I like his list, if not his attitude. Good attitude on your part.

I kind of wonderered if trying to snipe out Khan instead of maximizing attacks on the squad might have been a mistake. What do you think, in retrospect?

Tough fight, and getting your scissors rocked off the table at the get-go as well as a poor sport opponent probably would have soured me considerably. Big ups staying positive and taking your whipping like a man.

Nice reports so far looking forward to the last two. Nice to see someone doing well with Demons. I like Demons but they seem a bit too random for me but you found a way to get around this randomness and do well.

Khan biker list is pretty interesting. Different then what you usually see. 3 Thunderfires is bad news for any foot lists :(.

Sniping out characters when they have a good invulnerable save is rarely worth it better to just win by more killing more squad members and sweep the character when you win. Even if the squad is fearless you can cause a whole lot of fearless wounds that might end up on the character.

Well, that's not true adam, nor did he face null zone librarians, at least not so far.

But if you think nothing is worse, you haven't faced a new grey knight army with Warp Quake. You don't even get to put your models on the table if they do it right.

And even if you do get to chances are the frey knight player is taaking coteaz who comes with dark excommunication for free. Your power weapons and rending that you payed out the ass for? Yeah they don't work. It's just not winnable at that point.

In fact I've played null zone at other tournaments which I've battle reported and won. There is no hope for demons against the new grey knights.

Yeah, I'm just starting to get the hang of my all-reserve Tyranids, then saw that rule and blanched. Here I thought all was going to be well for DSers with Mystics gone.

Sounds pretty brutal. Also seems like he didn't anticipate the speed of the Seekers and positioned badly.

Top of 6 he still had a tervigon and two squads of gaunts on his objective, and it was in the corner, right? I'm surprised that he couldn't make a solid screen and have a unit of gaunts left. He would have lost them if it went to 7, of course, but I could have had the draw until then.

Language is a little harsh, too. Not sure what the point of that is, honestly.

I gave up on my demons before long before GK was released. IMO, you have to be an exceptionally patient person to play demons competitively. It's bad enough that their success hinges on a few key dice rolls, but now they have another (I count null-zone as one) hard counter in the GK.

I only saw the one instance of the dreaded 'c word' and it's friend, sodomy. That word is just an uncomfortable one that should be avoided. I've used it once in my life out loud and immediately regretted it, but I've heard that phrase used rather prolifically by older gamers at FLGS's for some reason, they were always a bit more of the backwater variety..
