Hopefully this is in the right place..

I received an email from MicroMark, a company that sells modeling tools, etc. and saw this:
http://www.micromark.com/HO-Scale-Surface-Detail-Rivet-Decals,9968.html?Ns_md=Email&Ns_sc=Marketing&Ns_cn=11018A&ns_pc=11018A&Utm_source=Marketing&Utm_medium=Email&Utm_campaign=11018A

(you may have to copy and paste the info above as I don't know how to make it work as a link)

Has anyone used this before? I have a hard time making rivets in plasticard for my conversions and this looks like it would make the task much easier.

Are they just decals or actually '3D'

It's a decal that somehow has raised dots that look like rivets once you paint over them.

That... is... brilliant!

I hate making/gluing rivets with a passion so will definitely be getting some of these.

Can anyone help out, would HO or O scale be better? I'm using for looking various stuff and orkifying it. So, I guess, which is bigger?

Exactly! I know at least one of those scales is really small, but am still looking for a reference for relative sizes. Long ago, I bought model train deer to add to my WE, and they were actually the size of dogs or spites when lined up with the Welvises... did not work out.

I have been considering them, as well, but the need to drill for the pin may limit areas for placement. And, if I clip the pin, I may as well use home made... Minor, I know, but it has made me hesitate on picking them up. The hex bolts are freakin sweet, though!

Now peel and stick... that is about as work-free as one can get! I have a LOT of rivets to place!

Edit: O scale is 1:48, and HO is 1:72, so O scale is going to be the closest. Now, to purchase!

Edit 2: For some reason I was thinking they were peel-and-stick, however, these are waterslide decals.

I just use standard pins. Cut off the sharp end after you pin it in place and Ta-daa! Instant rivet from the pin head.

to expensive for my taste , i will post a thread in the next couple weeks that will show , among other things , how to make rivets easier

This thread is 100% WIN for me, thank you Maxstreel. I'm adding this to my "get soon" list. I've been making a lot more terrain lately and this will be a worthwhile investment in saving time and looking great.

These work great, similar concept. It is indeed simply resin deposited on a transfer sheet, they are 3D.

Note, they should be applied onto primed surfaces, not bare plastic, resin or metal.

I got the HO scale rivets (maybe should have looked for O scale?) They seem way too tiny for 40k use. Maybe to detail out some old power armor but certainly too small for vehicle use. And even if you get them on your model (might be a hassle) they are so small that thick paint would cover them up. (you can just feel the bumps running your fingertips over the sheet)
