Another commission, the freaky Dark Eldar mutant dude, Urien Rakarth. Lots of fun with skin colour here, greens, purples, red tints... still some details and further highlighting to do - will probably repaint the lining of the coat to go a lot more vibrant.

You are off to a pretty good start... You should make the skin much more pale though...

The face is about where I want it I think. I started wanting a really pale Hellraiser Cenobite type look, but when applied it just looked flat and lifeless, and I wanted a vicious, spiteful, malicious-looking mofo.... I deliberately washed down the area behind the head to make the face pop a bit - I'll slowly add spot highlights with ivory to up the paleness where the skin is streteched.

Might I ask how you did the outlining on the coat? I'd love to steal the technique, I like to do outlining, but mine generally looks like crap.

Quite easy: Do a really thick (wide, not gloopy) line highlight with hawk turquoise, feather it a bit. Then over that put a thinned layer of hawk turquoise and a bit of black and progressively add more black as you smooth it out towards the main black areas.

Some more progress- the client requested some freehand on the coat and OSL on the vials and so forth so this is growing a bit from it's basic (tabletop character) spec... Bionics will be done in an antique gold finish...
