If GW made Warhammer Quest into a free edition would you play it?
Yes - I would love to wreak carnage in dungeons for plunder & call myself Lord of Awesome when I finally kill that damn Bloodthirster.
No - I'd rather not play one of the best roleplaying board games created by man or beast.
Warhammer what?

This thread is about two things:

1) If GW put up the rules for Warhammer Quest (including PDF's of the floorplans) would you consider playing it?

2) Warhammer Quest Love

I've seen relatively few threads for this game & am gutted I can't just post any links to any possible rules downloads there may, or may not, be on the internet

I'm going to play some Quest with my brother over the next couple of days and will be duly reporting back to see if the love I had for it as a child is still there. I feel GW's abandonment of this game is both shocking and shameful, doing themselves a great discredit and also limiting, of all things, profit! Deep down I hope GW will return to this game as it is simply full of WIN.

I strongly urge you all to seek it out by any means (especially if you play Warhammer) & don't be put off by the sheer amount of Monsters needed...it's called either proxy or Mantic
In this light I have produced a document containing all the monsters needed according to the roleplay book, the game is really old by now & many units we know of are missing.

In the mean time consider this a place for your thoughts, memories or strange desires on or for Warhammer Quest...now if you'll excuse me I've got an axe to sharpen and some D6's to roll!

Inside your mind, corrupting the pathways

My wife and I play Heroquest (and all the expansions ) so I have no doubt we would play Warhammer Quest if it were made available.

Her brother has a copy of it, though I have not played it.

No they do not

They do Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay but that's not the same...

I have just started an online petition and blog site dedicated to bringing this immense game back to the masses in some form - hopefully as a Specilaist Game free download. Over the next few days I plan to post on every forum, club or wherever else I can in order to maximise the exposure:

Your help will be appreciated, let's do it for Sigmar!

This is amazing.

No it isn't. It's amazing

I'm with you buvver! All the fething way! This game is so immense it makes the love child of Chuck Norris and Charlie Sheen seem poor by comparison!!

I have loved Warhammer Quest for almost 16 years, since it came out in fact..... I have wasted many an hour of my childhood playing this, and it is criminal, criminal ya hear, that GW have 'lost' the files etc needed to bring this hugely sweet game back.

They did it with Space Hulk, why not WHQ???

Bring it on!

EPIC

Our 4th Dungeon produced no less than 14 Minotaurs, 9 Centaurs, 9 Gutter Runners, 4 Pink Horrors - 4 Blue Horrors, 3 Plague Censor Bearers, 3 PWG, 12 Skeletons, 2 Fiends of Slaanesh & 1 Large Orc Big'Un in just 7 rooms. That's what happens when your Wizard rolls no less than 8 unexpected events, 5 of those in a row!. Amazingly no one died, although our transvestite Pit Fighter & psychotic Chaos Warrior got a bashing more than once!

Here's me thinking it wouldn't take us long to do a dungeon before we called it quits for the night - 180 minutes later...

I can happily confirm my love for Quest is still very much alive...

I think a modern version or even a plushed up re release (like space hulk) would sell in the hundreds of thousands.

If your going to do something wrong, do it right!!!!

Great game as long as you pull out the "cave in" card. Nothing worse than spending 4hrs on a game only to have everyone die in the last room on the way out.

Honestly I disbelieve the "we lost all the files" excuse. I'm thinking it's more like "we lost/sold the rights away to someone who won't give them back w/o a huge payoff."

Ahhhh how I loved that game. Sadly I made the stupid stupid mistake of selling my copy with all the characters, including the mail order only halfling and ogre packs! If this were to make a reappearance in Space Hulk styley, I would gladly shell out whatever they chose to charge for it. Twice.

I spent many an hour writing new adventures and characters for this game. Some of which are still floating around the net somewhere, in all their badly written glory

You're missing out on perhaps the greatest board game in existence (I may be slightly biased here...)
