If you look at the Dakka article on Paint Strippers, you'll find that 'fairy power spray' has been mentioned as essentially the most effective.

Here are the ingredients:
http://www.scienceinthebox.com/en_UK/pdf/en_uk/UK-IRL_070201_FAIRYPOWERSPRAY.pdf

Here is a similar product, available in the States - Dawn Power Dissolver
http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/household/brands?tbl=brands&id=16003618

You'll notice that the ingredients are similar, but Fairy Power Spray includes phenoxyethanol and "C10-16 amines". Without getting too technical, they're both surfactants - like detergents but significantly better at dissolving things like grease and fat, which is why they are components of degreasers. The concentrations in Fairy Power Spray are also significantly higher than Dawn Power Dissolver, so I fully expect Fairy Power Spray to be the more effective (and significantly more toxic) of the two.

If you're curious about their health effects - they're both likely to cause burns if you leave your hands in them too long, as they are both basic (like ammonia, except possibly stronger - it depends on the concentrations). The surfactants that I mentioned above are also metabolized into some rather nasty stuff, so don't drink it, either.

Both products should be safe with plastics.

A while ago my father found some of this stuff at a discount store, and it turned out to be the best for me so far. It's not as effective as Fairy Power Spray (10 minutes? that's pretty fast), but it's pretty effective. Unfortunately the website says that it is "totally nontoxic and therefore does not have to list ingredients". This is complete crap - any surfactant in existence, even orange oil, is somewhat toxic. However, I can't really force them to list ingredients, so I have no idea what's in it. I remember it smelling vaguely of citrus, so it might just be orange oil.

Totally not the content I was led to expect from the title ¬.¬

But it is an informative article

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

I think the thread should be re-titled. In my defense, I realized what it was probably about right as I clicked.

At any rate, thanks for the info; I've just been using Simple Green...which takes quite some time, it seems.

Simple green hasn't worked for me yet :( In fact, I haven't found a darn thing that works for me. I'm going hunting in this forum section to see what I can find.

Obviously from my post count I am kind of new here, so I'll go searching before I post questions lol.

To make simple green work like you dreamed it would:

Put it on top of your dryer and do some laundry.

The heat will bring the ketones up to the temp to dissolve the paint more effectively, and the shaking of the dryer will agitate the solution so that fresh simple green reaches the paint instead of stagnating.

Another huge upshot is you get your laundry done.

I...that is FAR too clever of a solution.

You like that, huh? Instead of soaking them for a day, you can cut your time to about 30 minutes.
I do have some clever ideas that don't get represented in my Tyranid Pwnography thread.

Ultrasonic cleaner? You mean my 10 dollar vibrating toothbrush I use to facilitate the paint removal process even further?

Because that thing works like a champ, and its hard to beat $10.

@KilKrazy: Yes.

@Doomthumbs: thanks for the tips.

@elvennoob: if Doomthumbs' tips don't work for you, leave them in there for a couple of weeks, then use a toothbrush to remove the paint. If that's not fast enough for you, do more laundry.
