Space Dwarfs Online has just opened, At the momment I am running it on a free PHB forum. I hope to help make it the best knowledge base for space dwarfs squats chaos dwarfs and the ilk.

Hopefully it will grow with blogs, rule development, Painting ideas, Conversions from games workshop and mantic figures. With the drive to make it as good a comunity as I possibly can.

If you cant find them then maybe you can design the space dwarfs, Demiurg, Squats or Chaos Squats again.

I am probably not the best sculpter nor am I the best painter so ill attempt to make a squat army. I have already taken the liberty of throwing together a few tanks to aid my cause already. Those eagle eyed amougst you will notice they are space marrine shaped. THat is not a indication of how my army will play, Just a conviniant shape for me to work with. SO here goes. Storm bolter going to bee's the one on the far right was a press mould rather than a sculpting and turned out awfull. The shoulder isnt to bad so that may be a donnor for a heavy weapons trooper.

Wow, seeing Squats again has brought back some memories! thudd guns, mole mortars, their exo suits. this is pretty well done, love the grot bodies with IG heads, nice going!

That is a damn good use for the old 2nd edition starter box grots!

Although the cadian heads don't look dwarfish enough for my tastses, still great work there!

That will be addressed next batch of squats bulking the force out. The plan is to build my phase 2 squat troopers out with space wolves heads making them look slightly more feral. At the momment I'm working on sculpting another 24 Egg so armour squats at the momment pictures will follow when I'm feeling snap happy again.

As a REAL squat player, i feel like the grot bodies aren't doing them justice, and i now understand why GW dropped them lol, but the exo armor squats look pretty nice, Squats FTW!!!

i didnt mean it that way, mine just get called "Grots" all the time and it kinda pisses me off, the sculpting is very nice on them though.

I can see squat kids problem if I stand on my head and close my eyes until near shut whilst I try and get the pepper spay out of my eyes I think with my main troopers, thousands of people who have seen squats back in the day a few wouldn't like these and a few more would be pissed that they hadn't had the same idea, I think squat kid isn't such a big fan because he likes the Demiurg idea more than a traditional squat force. Sure they are different as they need so little in the ways of work to bring them bang up to date rather than the longer oop squats but as a starter force they rock,

I think that the idea of using the Gretchin bodies is cool and certainly no worse than the old plastic Squats.

I would have maybe converted the weapons...add lasguns from the Cadian box...but apart from that it seems a good way to individualise the Gretchin bodies.

I loved some of the original metal Squats but the range lost it's way with the biker theme...so a bit of new flavour is always a good thing and I can see what Thorne has done is a relatively cheap and effective way of getting a Squat army on the table without having to trawl through E-bay and pay through the nose for Squat minis.

Now that the range has disappeared and the race has been removed from the game...is there really such a thing as a 'REAL' Squat player any more?

As for Demiurg, apart from one blurry pic, a few spaceships and a couple of mentions in some fiction, there isn't really a lot to go on so no one can really quote 'the Demiurg thing' because there is so little info out there.

I like the imagination and drive that has gone into this project and I hope to see more pix of new stuff soon.

Inso you honour me with your comments. After following your blog on the other forum and your work with hassle free's Grimm staggers belief and I must say it is all very inspiring to find ideas from your work.

All in all I intend doing something a little unexpected and thus far I have a infantry platoon sized contingent and Im going to expand it soon by adding another infantry platoon as well as some infiltrators to their number.

To another end I have also sculpted some EXO armoured troopers. These may serve as ogryns at some point I'm not sure but I know one thing that will serve true is I'll have a hell of a lot of fun whilst I make them.

It will give me a few headaches and a few challenges to make it how I want it to look and hours of looking for the right products but don't expect not to see the legendary deodorant stick grav tanks because that old gamesworkshop charm is going to have a fun place in my army.

It all sounds quite promising...and I always love to see inovative new stuff (especially with hints of the past...ahhh...the deodorant grav tank...those were the days!).

Don't forget to show a few work-in-progress pix if you can. That way it may help the explanation of what you have done.

Instead of using powerarmored ones as orgryns just take a standard Catachan soldier and make him a bit more buff thus making him the worlds biggest dwarf xD

Just finished sculpting another 100+ squat troopers all missing heads at the momment pictures will follow. Not to mention that I have been prepping to build 16 heavy weapons teams to fit into the force. The plan is to make near 300 squats for the core of my force these will be standard 30 ten man infantry without platoon command or characters. I'm really enjoying the process but the last few days I've used 24 inches of green stuff
