$54 for resin Casket of Souls?

Also, is it really x3 of one body for the archer Ushabti? Or did I miss key details?
At least the Great Weapons got 3 different bodies.

I do like Apophas though. He looks to be a blast to paint.

Bam, said the lady!

yeah,
Same bodys and different arms and heads for archers.
Looks like the the Great Weapons got 2 different bodies. with different loin cloths and heads...

I'm guessing this will be the way of the wracks and Grotesques when we get proper details on them!

It looks like to save costs they are back to making one body, then making small easy changes to it prior to casting...
It seems fine cast = proper lazy GW = sad times...

At least it's better than the actual mono pose metals like the beast master and fiend...

Panic...

edit: I know that lots of old minis like dwarfs you often get one dwarf in a mono pose with 4 different heads and different weapons... but haven't we moved away from this?

I thought the idea of finecast was to get lots of extra detail... so why repeat the same details on every mini!
I'd have been happier with cheaper metals with more variety.

seems like GW is taking a step backwards towards monopose.

Panic...

Just lately I've gone off GW due to the obvious reasons AND I don't collect Tomb Kings but they do look pretty good to be honest, in my humble opinion.

The Ushabti archers do have the same bodies which is maybe a money saving move BUT they are just animated constructs / statues come to life. Maybe they did all have the same bodies *shrugs* I don't really know, just might have been a reason behind it...or not.

Still, I like them!

*EDIT*

Liche Priest looks like he's holding a wee in!

Woo hoo! Now I can include the utterly useless bow armed Ushabti in my army.

DarkStarSabre wrote:That liche priest...looks....

Really? Me Like.

On a side note, I'm vaguely impressed that the Ushabti are approximately the same price as a three large plastic monster kit.

Not so impressed with the price of the Casket of Souls

Yeah... He's kind of fleshy. And also looks like he needs to pee.

I am not a fan of the new sculpts. The Necrotect is chunky, has a funny hat, and has scales at the end of the whip. The Ushabti with bows look much worse than the original Ushabti. Is the new Priest wearing a cape? It just makes me think of Handi-Man. Apophas is probably the best, but I have no inclination to play him.

I will give them credit for dropping the price on the Ushabti. However, the price on the priest went way up, as you used to get a model on foot and a mounted model for about the same price.

Did they discontinue the fourth Ushabti with great weapon model? It had the head of an asp.

Yeah, I was surprised to see something go down in price. Wowsers. I was eyeing up the Ushabti for possible Tzeentch Daemon Princes.......

This has to be a mistake. Ushabti are bigger than a standard miniature, but at £30 for 3, they are being sold at a cost of £10 per mini. Only 50 pence more expensive than a Liche Priest or Tomb King?

Expect a price correction to £50 and the person responsible summarily fired/executed (depending on Mark Wells' mood) before the end of the week

That scarab prince chap and the ushabti have got my attention. Although, aren't the great weapon ushabti just recasts of the metal ones?

Do not like the necrotect at all. The liche priest looks good, but that left arm spoils it for me.

I really like the liche priest. The Necrotect is the stinker of the bunch, what a horrible model...

For me, the problem with the Necrotect is that they could have done a bit more with the model. He doesn't quite look angry enough about the destruction of his lovely stone work.

I can also see why people have a problem with the Liche Priest, but the "I'm bursting for a wee" pose suits the shuffling character of the model and doesn't bother me.

I really don't like the Prince of Bugs though.

The beautiful Ushabti models are now cheaper than they were in pewter. Instead of $20+ each they are $49.50 for 3. It's not cheap, but it is an improvement. That and the fact they are no longer metal means I might talk myself into a set.

At least the Great Weapons got 3 different bodies.
They already had three different bodies. These are the same models that have been around for years. And I'm not complaining about that, they are great looking models.

I'm noticing a rare deviation in the new releases schedule GW has been keeping for the past couple years. Normally, new releases are the first and third Saturday each month. However, in June the Dark Eldar new release is June 4 and the Tomb Kings are released only 1 week later on June 11. Could there be three new releases in June? Will more Dark Eldar be released on June 18 or did GW just cram their new releases only one week apart instead of two this time?

$90Aus for a casket of souls!

LOL!

No thanks.

Ushabati are still nice models, though I think they missed an opportunity to "showcase" their new material with the characters.

Wow those models are amazing! I don't play fantasy but I see some tomb kings in my future just of painting purposes.

Also, I hope the new necrons get this egyptian look, all those details would work marvelously on some undead robot from space.

If you look on the DE thread, theres the razoriwng, haemonculi, wracks and grotesques, all seemingly scheduled for the 18 (said someone who looked at junes WD)

OT: the presist head looks to rectangular, im not a fan of screming dead things either. In the fluff it talked about a army moving silently across the field, just saying.

I'm actually surprised at the price on the Ushabti. Which is good, cause I need like 20 of them.

If you look on the DE thread
That thing is a long, long 23-page mess, most of it not very useful. Once threads get that long I generally stop looking at them because they are mostly full of garbage and very little info. I may glance at the most recent few posts occasionally to see if there's anything useful in them, but no way do I look at every page or every post. And usually the latest posts in a thread that long are not even on topic. :(

I like the Prince guy...everything else is ok.

That Ushabti does look funny. Now we know what happened to Big Bird...so sad

Has anyone noticed that the Battalion is £70? Have they added 4 Skeletons from the last one for an extra £19? I'm not missing anything in that am I? Anyone?

Well now we know what Battle Forces/Battalions will cost this time next year

Hmm, looks like GW decided to "wow" us with what finecast can do with some utterly average Tomb King models.

It is nice to see a decent price drop on Ushabati though. $120 for a battallion now? Ouch, that makes up for it.

We get the battalion for 140 now. Still a discount, by a small margin. I pity the Austrailians now (unless they dont recieve GW items anymore).

I showed my friend the bugprince. She is in conflict right now, as she is phobic of bugs, but loves the model.

I'm sorry if i've missed something because im new to warhammer fantasy myself, but does the person who wrote the stuff about Prince Apophas know anything about playing warhammer at all?

First of all they say he's the perfect character killer because he can pop up from the sand and pick his target. However he cannot charge on that turn and will be killed straight away.

Surely all characters will be in infantry blocks. And this little guy popping up will never get the chance to fight anyone and will be destroyed under combat res and say he did attack a target on it's own he's only init 1 and toughness 3 he'll be ripped apart by anything that cant join a unit.

Then they say if he's got plent of wounds and regeneration incase he loses a few. Regen is just a save isn't it? You cant regain wounds.

Then there them saying he can fly so he's "uncatchable". However he cannot march so could never move 20 inches.

I'm rather confused by all this, plus as a model his head looks silly

We love what we love. Reason does not enter into it. In many ways, unwise love is the truest love. Anyone can love a thing because. That's as easy as putting a penny in your pocket. But to love something despite. To know the flaws and love them too. That is rare and pure and perfect.

T3 , 6+ armor save with regen.... that is so weak that it'll die to almost everything -_-
I see it as TK's equivalent of a Dark Elf assasin. which is to hide , attempt to kill something and die trying. witih explosive results when he fails :'P

PS are all breath weapons 1 use only?
