Subject: Those 6th edition guesses. Who wants to take bets?

So I had an idea the other day while playing against my brother and thought it could turn into a fun thread. He loves scouts, and everyone else seems to think they suck something fierce. I jokingly said, well just wait for 6th then, with the popularity of the new Vindicare rules, GW will realize that people want snipers, and so will make scouts badass. This will keep inline with them making barrels of money, because no one has scouts because they suck so bad. Seriously, mark my words this will happen. What about your codex? What will be hardcore in 6th and cause you to spend more money? Orks - Nobs and BW/kans are where its at, so those wont be badass anymore. Lootas wont even be in the codex. The boyz will get the choppa rule back, but itll cost alot and the new be all you cant win without this unit is going to MANz. Even fun players dont have many of these guys, they are too pricey money wise, for what they do in the game. In 6th they will be finecast so cost more then they do now, but at least they will get a box.

i love my mega nobz I onyl have a few but am working on converting some terminators into them. I hope they end up in there. I can see them making scouts much more valuble and of coarse they are gonna try to make the lower sellign models much mroe usable so people buy them i agree but i disagree with eliminating lootas or burnas i can't see them just wiping out a model they have sold boatloads of. perhaps we might wee somthign like deffguns be added to the armory and an option to take em but i'd be pissed if they were suddenly flat out gone. i think GW knows they would piss alot of thier gamers off if they sudenly dropped a very popular unit though i have only been playing for 6 or so months so i don't know they very well may have done this in the past *add* i bet bikes make a comeback too. they are expensive and i can see bike armies be pretty fun

KK - I honestly didnt even realize I had this in another forum Thanks And yea good call on the bikers. I bet 6th will be a bike heavy edition. Since they made a killing on transports here in 5th, whats left that cost alot of money and has the potential to be hardcore? Also I disagree on them not dropping a popular unit simply because people like it. They have done it before. Sides why would they leave something like that in a codex if people already have a bunch of them? They wouldnt make them less badass simply because cheap asses would stick with them just because they have 45 of them painted. Now if they DROP said unit and replaced it with something else.....TADA! money

6th edition will totally revolutionize table-top warfare.
All models will be retooled to use real ammunition. The Demolisher cannon will shoot buckshot. The Vanquisher will shoot 9mm rounds. GW will even manufacture tiny rounds for bolters.
GW will make a fortune on bullet-proof vests alone, but with everyone needing to repurchase a large part of their army every game, they will be rolling in more money than Microsoft and Betty Crocker combined.
Getting tabled will literally cost you about $2000. And we ALL know you will pay it.
True LOS is really frakkin TRUE LOS! The good news is that we won't be arguing over the D6" explosion radius for our vehicles because, if you hit the remaining ammo in the vehicle, the explosion radius will be FOR REAL.
Come on. We all know we'd love to see that.

I can see the Leadership rules getting changed back to what 3rd edition was like. Hordes falling back and getting swept by a far lesser number of models is a stupid idea.
In 3rd edition, the only time you took leadership modifiers, was if you were outnumbered, or below half strength. I'd like to see those as the ONLY ld modifiers, and then retain the Sweeping advance Mechanism as it is.

I'm willing to place a small chunk of change on seeing flyer specific rules. The FAQ's are becoming more uniform in their layout. Take note to the 'Amendments' section. We very well may see certain 'skimmers' that are actually 'flyers' have amendments to their vehicle classification.
Wound allocation will be reworked. (Even though its current rules work incredibly well... ABSOLUTELY NO ONE USES IT PROPERLY!)
True Line of Sight (another wonderful rule that works well) will get clarification as there are far to many jerk-offs that complain about it.
Feel No Pain (I dearly hope) will get the Nerf bat. It's far too widespread a rule now.

I've been mulling over what 6th will be and I think I've got it sussed. As it stands very few people (assumptions) take heavy infantry en mass, save Deathwing and small variants of. But not a huge amount. Meganobz is a good example. So I predict a boost for heavy infantry. Make their presence on the board more badass.
Vehicles will get hit with a nerfbat just to stop the spammage. And a friend of mine suggested we may get tiered Psychic powers since the GK's got it.

No shooting the candy shell vehicles to get at the goodies inside only to be denied the ability to charge them because the vehicle they were in is what you shot (thats poop)
Bring back destructible vehicle results for glancing. Entanglement should not be back though, just overboard and stupid at that point.
Herp derp, theres one guy I dident kill last turn, and now I am being assaulted by 10 more guys and I have 5 power fists. I guess I have to finish that one guy off and stand there stupid till i get my head handed to me.
Herp a derp I can take different gear on my nobz and make it so you have to do 11 wounds before one finally dies ( I do this sometimes and feel like a cheater face )
Bring back 25 precent troops minimum.
Bring back you set up your heavies, then i set up my heavies, then you set up your elites, then mine, then troops, then HQ then fast attack. No more of this lulz you can go first, me and my 12 venoms/raiders/chimeras/other horrible examples will wait off the table edge and throw your turn away.
how about 4+ max to hit a moving vehicle, and if you can wrap around a dread you should be able to punch said dreads back not watch as he tears your squad a new one with no chance of retaliation (admittedly this still dosent help base 3 str races much)
I dont know how I feel about always assaulting rear armor, it feels wrong.
I can see that one guys whole arm. Entire squad lost to massed fire at said arm.
Roll your saves for everyone with different gear, because if you have a guy with a special weapon die, the guy next to him is incapable of picking it up and using it! Makes sense on plasma since the gun probably blows up, and weapons like fists that are attached. But if my guy with a combi melta dies, why cant goon B pick it up its clearly better than regular bolter.
All I could charge was the 3 guys shielding the IC. And even though he gets to attack due to being within 2 inches of the fight, and I do 7 unsaved wounds, he laughs and says nope no wounds for me, I R INDUPENDUNT KARUKTER! HURR!
All I could think of at the moment
Oh and how about a points increase for anything you can spam to rediculous levels. 3 even in some cases is too much for some things, but when you can get like6 to 9 very undercosted vehicles like blood angel razorbacks, venoms, chimeras, they blow the game balance out of the water. after 2 or 3 there cost should be 50 precent or more higher.

My uneducated guesses:
Marines wil get more toys, and steal a few new toys from xeno armies. They will also be the only race allowed 3+ armour as standard.
Xenos will get nerfed, except for a few new units in each codex that cost the earth to buy, are hard to assemble and break easy. These will be the must-have units.
Landraiders will go up to armour 15, and Leman russes to 14 all round. Both will be allowed to fire all weapons, all the time, regardless of speed.
The fluff will be rewritten so that every marine non-victory becomes a glorious win (such as having Damnos be a win for the IOM..)
Yet more redonculous fluff will be written to make the IOM the bestest, trampling existing fluff where necessary
And then perhaps a new race
I would love to see a human Non- IOM, non Chaos codex

Uh... you CAN charge a unit of troops with the model that destroyed their transport. It's in the rulebook, though the page number elludes me.
I really hope they don't nerf vehicles, they're already incredibly vulnerable to getting stun-locked and are always hit on rear armour by assaulting armies. I really do think most of the people wanting the nerf bat are just butt hurt by the prevalence of mechanized forces out there, but this is really no reason to nerf them as vehicles really are not that resilient.
I love the idea of more FOC choices though, that would be a welcome addition.

I hope they change the rules for sweeping advances and stuff back to what it was in earlier editions.
i played a game where i slaughtered a squad of necrons in cc and they managed to get away despite them having a naff initiative and my squad having jump packs and being accompanied by nothing less than a chapter master and i still didnt catch them because even when it was so one sided it still came down to only a single dice roll.
i reckon instead of rolling an initiative test to break off from combat it should be a morale check(with modifiers) and then using 2d6(or 3d6 for jump infantry) to run away and the same for chasing. you should also be able to assault another unit as before.

The IG Techpriest will become the best unit in the game. Valkyries will be nerfed. Seriously though: I predict an even greater influx of special characters. Perhaps mandatory, or hugely restrictive without them, to run certain lists. You can't use Heavy Support without X, or only have one Fast Attack without Y.
