Marines vs IG. A friendly game with a friend. We fought to the last man just to get a hold of the rules and how everything works. There were two models left standing in the end.

Black reach my captain managed to get all three hits and wounds on his warboss so I won on assasination.

Tau vs Orks in 3rd ed. I thought that crisis suits were good in combat as I hadn't read any other codex. Needless to say I lost badly.

My first battle was Orks(me) vs CSM.

I won by kill points, but I also think he may of let me win.

My first purchase was AoBR, so I started Orks and SM simultaneously. First game, I brought SM, since higher point costs meant fewer models to carry and use and therefore an easier time of things. It was a 3-way battle at 500 points - SM, Necrons, and Tau - all of us new players. It was slow and ugly, for sure, and we botched a few rules, as much time as we spent flipping through codices and the rulebook, but it was fun. I scraped a win by a single KP.

SM(me) vs Orks against someone at a GW store. I lost. I got completely annihilated.

My BA vs Orcs, i won although we were both a bit....fuzzy, on the rules. (i thought my scouts were armed with Power Weapons because they werent specifically modelled with Chainswords for example

)

Way back when I played RT (the original book) games... but my first 2nd edition game was my Eldar vs Orks.

For some reason we played the long way on a ping pong table and my dark reapers made a mess of those poor orks.

I'm sure we had half the rules wrong, but I was happy with the result

1st game was set up as a demo i played as nids vs IG

*add* forgot to mention points, it was a 1750 point game of nids vs guard and nids won

My first army was IG. My fist game was one with 3 other player at 500, IG and Tau vs. Eldar and Nids. the Tau player and I lost the game, but it was pretty close.

My first game was 750pts. It was my Nids (4th ed) vs 1k Sons. I won rather quickly against the GW employee.

My first game with my own models had my Ultramarines (in a very poorly built list) as part of a 3v3 fight. I shot a lascannon every turn and never hit anything, and the rest of my Marines never got close enough to do anything. It was actually a pretty lousy game.

Smurfs Vs Necrons - It was a choice between Necrons, Nids or Orks and I knew I was in for a kicking with IG to the left of me and Eldar to the right ("...here I am, stuck in the middle with you").

My first ever game was when me and my friend bought the Assault on Black Reach set and played Orks (me) vs. Space Marines (him). My first REAL game was against his newly converted Blood Angels vs. my expanded Orks

Tau vs Tyranids in 4th, we didn't play a "legal" and we just played until one side was wiped out. (Me playing the Tau)

Orks in RT. No idea what I faced in my first game. Many of my orks had plasma weapons and graviton guns (we just went by whatever the models appeared to have on them), and we had no concept of point values or army lists. Ah the salad days.

its nice to here everyone remeber the first hit of the crack pip...i mean game that gets you stuck into this hobby me it was(que wavy memory ripples) backin third ed i spent my first pay check from my first job on vanllia marines and played the guy that talked me in to the game my marines vs. his all nurgle chaos marines at our flgs and totaly got stomped i built the shoot-est army i could for 1,000 points and learnd that day dont get in gun fight with a plauge marine

Had to argue that... logs don't explode when shot. That was frustrating. Had to argue that alot of terrain doesn't explode when shot.

a long time ago (2001) games workshop used to do levels of learining on sunday, starting from having lots of noobs with 1 unit, then 2, across the board.

anyway, level 3 was 500point games before we could go to veterans night. i played a guy who was leaning same time as his son (to keep eye on him)

i had chaos marines with khorne berzerkers.

he had eldar with 6 dark reapers and rangers and i got absolutely smashed.
