That's incredible, how long did it take to sculpt? Reckon I'll have to try and do some grotesques based on this, do you have or know of any gs tutorials that'll help me get there?
Thanks a lot - I've never sculpted in green stuff before, so it took a while - probably like 4 hours. The new liquid green stuff is great for smoothing afterwards. A better shot of the back muscles:
I don't have any tutorials on hand, but using spit as a release agent for the tools is very helpful.
i see it in your tread and it was really cool whit tail too! amazing work!

Looted dread looks about right, though it looks like its defying gravity with that huge claw. If i was handling it, id mount some outlandish device on the claw arm, and call it an anti-gravity device...
There are just a lot of awesomeness in this thread!
And I'm happy to join it with the model, which I deem worthy to call "my best", well, at least for now:

A short story behind the miniature:
Spoiler:
So here he stands tall, "Loud" Gunter, veteran and master of battlefront, famouse not only for his incredible strength, courage and booming voice, but for his weapon of type, rarely seen in the arms of Space Marines - his assault cannon "The Emperor's Roar".
This artifact was a gift from Magos Explorator, whos excavation mission was overwhelmed by the horde of rampaging Orc looters and nearly wiped out, when the rescue team, lead by Sergeant Gunter, descended from the orbit right in between, protecting the remaining Techpriests like a living but impenetrable shield.
With cold blood and Bolter fire they held the line, yet the numbers of xenos seemed endless... So not to say about the defenders.
And it was then he saw an assault cannon amongst other artifacts, recovered by the Techpriests, locked and loaded, ready to spill the blood of unclean, and in a moment later the six-barreled vengeance was risen and the mighty roar flew over the battlefield as the veteran shredded through the greenskin ranks with unbridled wrath and thousands shells. The battle was over in no time as the hundreds Orcs were ripped apart in a blink of an eye.
"Now it is yours" - the Magus said as the echoes of cannon fire died away "The spirit of the weapon has chosen you. THE Emperor himself has chosen you".
So the artifact got it's name. And it is interesting to note, that no one of the Expedition can recall the cannon being loaded as it was recovered in unusable condition.

WOW, great model sir! Btw, I had to lol at the name; my dad's also called Gunter, and they looks a little like each other

Yep, I'm quoting a pic. This is awesome. Have you WIP shots of the mini, I'd love to see how you built it! Great job!
@Winterdyne:
You can browse through my P&M blog, linked in my sig, or simply visit the WIP album withing Dakka gallery with a lot of shots, taken during the progress.
By the way, I saw some of your stuff here on Dakka and CMoN gallery and I must say it's an honor to get a compliment from such a modeller!
I think this is my favourite thread on Dakka Anyway - it's nothing really, compared to some kick-ass-awesomeness that's shown here, but here's one of my HWT.
My best conversion would actually by a SOB Exorcist, but I don't have pics of it yet.
Cheers!
That bearded fellow is looking very nice indeed. The basing is great too- are those sprue pieces for broken columns?
He's also got a really pensive look thats hard to acheive at this scale- very impressive.

Hey, thanks for the comment. As for the columns - yup, the sprue pieces. I like to find some use for them from time to time. Here they look surprisingly well.
As for being pensive - well, I think it's the matter of a poor photo, cause in reality he has more of an angry look
