i did this when i was 14-15 (im 21 now). and it was one of the first things i ever did with miniatures.

tell me what you think. is it any good?

its all well and good,but, why were guardsmen riding in a Rhino?

I like it!

For me, every diorama tells a story (atleast i like to think they do :3)

So my question is,

a) How did the Tau get ontop of the Rhino? did they get on it with some sort of transport?
Or did the Rhino break down and they climbed on it? ( either way i see no tell tale signs )

b) I like the chopped off hand on guardsman , atleast i think it was chopped off? nicely executed. however,
where is the instrument that chopped it off? or was it shot off? If it was shot off, why didnt they just shoot the head of climbing guardsman?

c) The vox caster guy with chopped off leg is really close to the chopped off hand guy. Whats the connection? how did he get his foot chopped off first?

Other than that , the pose , the flesh trauma , are all very nicely done. 8/10

One thing that would complete this: a Tau V8 Crisis suit underneath the rhino lifting it up into the air with his jet pack!!
The would make the climbing guardsman at the bottom of pic 1 look like he's clinging on for his life!!


Love the overall look of this though. But a crisis suit underneath would make it look awesome!!

when i made this, i didnt know anything about warhammer. i just bought a bunch of stuff i thought would look cool, then decided to put them together.

It looks like the tau are attacking the guard and it seems unlikely that the tau would ever attempt to assualt a vehicle or anybody riding on or in it. appart from that its an excellant attempt.

the way i always saw was the rhnio broke down and the guardsmen were using it to defend there position agaisnt the Tau.

yeah the hand was shot off. in my mind there was always more stuff going on around the Tank that you just cant see, more Tau, a few more Guardsmen, i didnt intend to make a connection with the missing limbs and whats going on on the tank. I might one day make a real diorama and recreate this as part of a larger battle scene. but with the way Pricing is now, that not likely to happen for awhile.

haha, i like that idea. i might use that in the future when i remake this.

you managed to catch the grim darkness of the far future blood gore i love it

i wouldn't change a thing but make a bit of area around it some bush or something maybe a tree or what ever apart from that it's really goodlooking.

Reminds me of the scene at the end of Saving Private Ryan when all the Paratroopers are swarming over the Tiger and they ripped up by the 20mm, only this time it's Tau pulse weapons.

well im planing on redoing the whole thing, and making a small battlefield out of it. given how much this stuff costs now, it might take a few months to a year for me to finish it though. :/

Its a Blood bath

I have wanted to do something like this for a long time. I really like how this one turned out

Decent work. It seems a little busy, but I think that works for it rather than against it. Frequently, the dioramas I see, especially in White Dwarf, aren't true action shots, more like 'just before the action' shots. I like seeing a mid-combat diorama, complete with severed bits and a bunch of blood.

Here is the story that I see:

I think the only model missing is the one you wouldn't see anyway. To me it looks like the Tau and Imperial Guard are buddies. Perhaps the IG are Human Auxiliaries. They are investigating a planet where some Space Marines were killed pretty badly. The scene is set up like the opening of "Aliens". Anyways, long story short, the Tau and IG are besieged by Tyranids. The claim a war torn Rhino as a means of escape, (you know how they repair themselves). Anyways why they are hitching a ride and climbing in the hatches they get slaughtered by a lightning fast Tyranid. He darts in and slices off a head, arm, or leg and the Tau and IG are just pointing their guns everywhere trying to find it and kill it while trying to get in the rhino.

That was over the top lol. The best part is the drag smear on the top of the rhino. Good job, I hope you stuck with the diorama stuff. Id die if someone put a rhino on the table looking like that lol.

This is what happens when the Dark Angel driver leaves the rhino to go get a drink.

"DAMMIT YOU PLEBS, Get off MY RIDE!!!!"

I like it, I am totally ok with the idea that the Guard are using it as cover and the tau just overran it. very well done not too much blood but enough to feel the passion in the fight.
