I am playing an all chaos warrior army (no marauders) in a summer campaign. I will have 1200 points of empire vs his 1000 points of WOC, I was wondering if I should run a Steam tank or 2 Helblaster volleyguns.

I play WOC so here are some thoughts.

Helblaster can be extremely nasty or explode so dont put all your faith in it its a good back up but dont think it by itself will work well.

Cannons you need those they are quite nasty and you want his sorcerer dead soon or else you will feel some magical pain.

If we are talking an I have to win list take steam tank.

Ok, so it looks like i will have 1400 pts to use vs him. I have a variety of models. If you think i should us it i have it, so what shoudl i be running. I have a few questions first:

Should I run a War Alter Pope?
Should I run a LV. 4 Metal Wizard?
What core shoud I run?
Any special artiellery to use?

Yea, go Level 4 Lore of Metal, or two Level 2's if you can fit it. Might as well since how often do you really get to use those anyway?

Use cannons and maybe mortars and those hellblastery things for good times.

But then again tailoring a list is sort of lame I would write a list that you would also fight other armies with and then use that.

Well, it is for a campaign, so you can cheese up my list. Shoudl i take a couple hellblasters and a helvolley or steam tank.

steam tank hellblaster can explode tho just saying dont depend.

I like cannons personally mortars are fun steam tank is a yes.
Halberdiers are good something to keep them off you for another turn

The horsey gunners are always fun and might get you a rear charge but ya 3 shots vanguard more good times.

Metal will rock his world. Additionally, it is VERY hard to picture him coming up with a counter for your steam tank at such low point levels. I don't think you'll have much fun, but I don't know what he can do to stop it. Remember to castle up as far away as you can, and shoot for as many turns as you can. If it is possible try to isolate any "death star" type unit so you don't have to deal with it, or perhaps throw a block of chumps into it at the last minute as a meat shield.

Watch out for terrain. If he catches you in the woods, your units wont have the advantage they should for their ranks/steadfast.

Steam tank well he may take a hellcannon that would mess it up pretty well magic could do some damage to you and if he can block your spells then well that could suck for you.

Well, i played someone else today so i will have 1500 pts to use vs his 1000, So my evil plan is comming together.

I hope he uses wulfrik and marauders muahaha then all your big guns will be useless muahahaha.

Attached is my list. I used the Yalb prgram posted on the forum. I inputed all the data for the empire army on it, so if you see errors please point them out so i can fix it.
