I've been thinking lately that those things would be hella heavy (obviously they're heavy, but I mean even heavier than they look).

Could anyone provide rough specs. from any sources? (i.e. height, weight, width?)

I think I remember see some somewhere but can't quite remember...

Without any specs on what fictional materials like Ceramite and Armaplas weigh, there's really no way to know.

well, if we simply made one using our modern day armor plates and engine construction, my guess would be somewhere between 6 and 10 tons.

we don't know the density and weight of Ceramite so we can't get a certain weight.

It probably is more than that...
I'd say it weighs similar to a small tank...

That said it is impossible to tell.

of course a walker would need to be lighter then other types of vehicle.

Ceramite might be lighter then steel of the same mass and might reduce the required weight.

They're around the same size as an M1 tank, so probably around the same weight.

Enough that if you dreadsock someone, they can get a concussion.

Wait, you mean IRL?

According to IA2, a Mars-pattern Dreadnought armed with twin-linked Lascannons (100 shots) and a Missile Launcher (8 missiles) weighs 12 tonnes whilst an Incaladion-pattern Dreadnought armed with a twin-linked Heavy Bolter (2000 rounds) and a Missile Launcher (8 missiles) weighs 11 tonnes.

The IA books are really good for providing the various details about machine build and stuff like that.

although they do have some gross inaccuracies as far as armor strength goes.

they will claim that the Ceramite hulls of Lemun Russ tanks are equivilant to single digit inches of steel. thats are horrible armor strength compared to modern day vehicles(which are clearly inferior to 40k vehicles from fluff descriptions)

well, the models are twice the height of a marine model.

marines average between 7-8 feet tall.

so, 14-16 feet?

Wouldn't it also depend on how much of the corpse is left as well?

true, true. So i guess double its estimated mass. which would be around....8 tonnes....then the weight of its weapons and BAM problem solved

This is surely false. I don't know how many of you own the 2nd ed metal chaos dred but I can tell you it's around 10 tonnes with AC/flail armament. A life-size version would doubtless increase the weight by more than a few tonnes.

It would be very hard to estimate, after all you have ammo to consider.

Well it was said they are three times the height of a man, and if we round that up is about 6'x3...depends on the Mark though...
