Subject: Hindenburgs Deffskullz Orks! (and some other random things.)
Hi! This is going to be my (slow, most likely) project log of my minis. Mostly my orks.
I am currently in the process of painting (and I'm still fairly new at this.) my orks. I had a lot of these painted before but in a fit of madness I stripped them and started repainting them as I wasn't happy with how they looked before. They are from the Deffskullz clan and I have written fluff for them that I will share if anyone is interested.
Anyway pics of what I have thus far:
A nob for my nobs mob. He has the basics of the colour scheme I am going for with these with grey/brown clothing and blue for details and warpaint. I have also tried Catattafishs great way of highlightning ork trousers on this fella though it might not show up very well on the picture. Had some trouble with the light.
This is some of the orks in my first shoota boyz mob. Finally done with these.
Pic of the entire mob (almost. Three are missing that I have painted now.) and the first warbiker for my warbikers mob is visible there in the corner as well. I have six of those guys to paint.
And here is two of my HQs. As you can see the Warboss is now WIP. The second one is my kitbashed Warphead that I am pretty pleased with. He will hopefully get painted up soon.
Thanks for looking. Comments and critisism is VERY welcome.

Subject: Re:Hindenburgs projects. First up Deffskullz.
Thanks! Okay. The gist of my fluff is that my ork warband is made up of several feral tribes that roamed the backwaters Imperial mining planet Veneria. A spacefaring ork Warlord known as Zogshanka crash-landed onto this planet with his spacecraft and conquered these tribes. When they were united they took over one of the furnace cities of Veneria and started manufacturing weapons and equipment and slowly growing into a WAAAGH. Zogshanka however is only interested in using the manufacturing capabilities of the conquered city, re-named by the orks to "Morkadishu", to build spacecraft so he can leave the planet and rejoin the WAAAGH he got lost from before he crashlanded. He is killed by the current leader of my warband Akilla Gobkrakka who takes over the roll as Warlord and leads a great campaign of conquest across Veneria.
Here is the Warphead in progress. I started painting him and then I realised he barely has any blue on him! Very unsuitable for a deffskull. I'm unsure of whether or not his loincloth should be painted blue. What do you guys think?

Paint the bands on his arms blue, and paint the spiky bitz on the axe blue, then do a chipping technique on it.
You could paint the tusks bone and the faceplate blue too.
And that is why you hear people yelling FOR THE EMPEROR rather than FOR LOGICAL AND QUANTIFIABLE BASED DECISIONS FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE MAJORITY!

The Warpheads excellent. There always great fun to use! The painting is excellent and I can't wait to see more.
"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Okay. Long time no update! Sorry about that! I've been working on the wierdboy and he is almost done and I also started painting on of my Khador warjacks, the juggernaut and I have come to the realisation that I hate painting red. Oh well.
The other day I sorted through my bitzbox and I got a real itch to do some work on my Lost and the Damned or renegade guard if you will. What do you guys think? Any room for them in this thread? (They now have their own thread. Link in my sig!)
Here's a picture of a pair of sergeants I painted for my renegade guard. Tell me what you think!

Okeydokey update time.
Got some Orks painted too! I didn't paint these as my girlfriend was kind enough to help me out by painting some orks and these two objective markers I made. For being her first models ever I think they turned out well!
Comments and critiscism is welcome!

Thanks! That was what I was trying to achieve with it. Something less flourescent and something more 'natural'.
Thanks, Soncka! They are starting to come together. I have written a 1500 points list for them using the Forge World list.
As for getting her interested in the hobby... Not really. Everytime I mention that we should play a game she laughs at me. She seems somewhat interested in Warmachine but not the price tag.
It does look a bit like that, huh. It was totally unintentional but I've been thinking about doing something similar to the qunari mages for rogue psykers.

It is a beastman pole. The one you gave me. I think it's from the... whatever the small ones are called.
Yep. Altough the Chainsword is just there for looks. He is just armed with the banned and a lasgun in his profile. I've done something similiar with a few other models for variation.
