Subject: Mantic Prices- Happy with them?

I was just wondering what are my fellow dakkaites/dakkanaughts opinions on Mantic's pricing on its miniature range? I for one personally think it's great, making my undead army for KoW and WHFB literally dropped to a quarter of what I'd pay to GW, and Im reasonably happy with the kit quality, the stickers sort of bug me, but thats a personal issue. And the case- it doubles as a miniature carrier. Now THAT was a good idea
So Dakka, share with me your opinion on this!

Just started my own Undead army from Mantic (and persuaded my entire gaming group to start KoW too and am very impressed with both the quality and price.
Best value-for-money company out there ( IMHO)

The elves and undead came with stickers that you could use for heraldry on shields. I gather it didn't work particularly well in practice though.
OT - very much happy with Mantic prices. I now have 4 complete ~2000 point fantasy armies and I paid £400 in total. Pretty good deal IMO. Yes, the aesthetics might be a hotly debated opinion but that comes second in my mind to the price. At the end of the day, they are glorified game tokens (even more so in fantasy which is all about big blocks of infantry) so the aesthetic is not as important to me.

They do seem good value. Just hope their Warpath range is cheap and interesting.

Agreed. There are plenty of other rulesets that you can use them with as undead are not specific to just GW games and are pretty universal. Yeah, I can't see the stickers working well as it cheapens the overall impression of the army when you open the box to look like some kind of board game.

They are excellently priced.
What I really hope is that they continue to concentrate on rank and file troops, big boxes of them for a wide range of armies.
I have been considering an undead army with their skeles, ghouls, zombies etc and the gamezone miniatures, enigma miniatures and avatars of war minis for characters.
I've hopeful they get to 'spikey dark god serving northmen' army very soon!
Above even price for me is attitude, Mantic's is spot on with their willingness to engage the player/customer base and interact and support the online community via appearances on podcasts, BOW etc.
Combine attitude and price and my money awaits them!

Agreed. I cant understand GW stance on being so damned secretive about their launches, now they want it so we find out about launches, pretty much right when they are launched. So cool, no time to prepare, no time to save, how pissed would you be if you decided to start a new army thats been around awhile, only to find out its getting redone in a couple months? Id be pissed off. Mantic OTOH, "hey guys we are announcing that WARPATH will launch in a few months ENJOY!" feth yes.

I've been perusing their website of late and I concur that some of the models seem good value for money.
However, leaving pricing aside, some of their product lines pale considerably in terms of sculpting quality when compared with other companies.
That said the Undead stuff is very good and it's still better than I could do

Its great to see so much support for Mantic
I eagerly look forward to getting my undead army together and go crack some skulls... Then revive them... And repeat...
