er... you have a point there... at this stage i should really change the bases....good of you to remind me...i kind of built the minis and then never thought about it...^^
lol...i had some fleeting thoughts about changing those bases earlier on, but i highly doubt the deployment of the armies in the nearer future... so i shoved that thoughts away... but i think you showed me the way^^
now get back to your desk mate and paint like the devil^^
Hey Vik , the last scottish trooper with the kilt is gorgeous . very brave colour scheme too , C M dante did an excellent painting chips on white Armour tutorial here http://cmdante.blogspot.com/2009/12/how-to-paint-chipped-armour-tutorial.html thought it might come in handy for your carapaces . cant wait to see more from these guys , also you should know my next project will involve caulkers drillers and riveters , thanks for the inspiration matey. ;-)

nilce linky there... i built mine from random bitz and not doing some research but it seems i was not that far away from a historical point of view with my creations... will be nice to see your take on that subject... will you do a four to five man team as described on the linky?... i really hope you do a dio with that idea... some steelplates or possibly a tank^^ cobnbled together^^

I think your skin areas could look a lot better with minimal effort. I have a really east receipe for flesh: elf flesh, gryphonne sepia wash, highlight with elf flesh. Don't need a lot of paints, don't have to blend anything, and I think it looks just fine. Give it a try!
As for the tartan: if it were me, I'd probably try a dark-ish base color (I think your red would work fine), highlight as normal, and then add some thin contrasting lines over the top. The tricky part will be all of the folds (but google image search might be helpful there, just to get an idea). You also could check out Mastiff's thread: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/240539.page He does a lot of tartan work.

johnny crass...it would be nice to use that sig when we both get a bit better known to each other as for now i never saw you around and using that around here now could be a bit offensive...wouldn´t you say so... imagine me using americans as a substitute in that sig...

at jeroen... i think you showed me the big daddy earlier ...before your hiatus...and yep... all thise kilts legs are from vic miniatures... which is a big concidence^^ or is it kharma?^^
at shrike... well i have the more muscled up guys in the squad already and with there bare skin i think they would be kind of ideal for some tats and some warcolors...but then...even if there are scotts...blue is out of the question for them... the queen is in mourning still after the last millenias and blue is replaced by black most of the times...but i could live with some red lines and halved faces for the catchan influenced guys...

I don't really get the colour of carapace armor. Black shoulders, dark red base and white raised areas? I think these are too many colours for a single item. And the dark red base for the carapace armour will make it blend too much with the dark red clothing.
made a mistake there... the greyer version of yours with the boots and the shoulderpads sure has a thing to it... the headgear and the shoulders are but the merest tribute to the name of the platoon...the blck devils... later on i had planned to do some free handed horns on the shoulders in red... so black there is kind of mandatory...
Ah Vik, now if you do the blue face paint, the unit ought to have a mounted officer to ride alongside the front to stir them up about FREEDOOOOOMMM!

Last one sounds about right vik white carapace looks cool, great linky too btw , thanks for that. The space wolf box has lots of crazy big haired feral heads , that would really suit the wolverine look, if you don't want spend on the box set , which is really good value in my opinion with something like 56 heads in http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod260003a i might have a few spare laying around .?

if you could part with some of them i would be too fevered to refuse that offer mate^^ ...heads make the character...and i have some bretonian bodies that just scream for some attention^^ so i would accept these as an honor^^
jeroen...yep...age of apocalypse was one of my favorite storylines of ymen too... been there since the way back marouder storyline and have about for before the films stopped collecting the books...but yep, that is the way i would like to go paintwise for the more catachan looking highlanders...
the armypainter is pretty neat eh? i really like to play with that idea and for upcoming ideas it is too a great way of playing around... so many combinations...
at shaso... mounted officer...yeah...that would be nice...hmmm...need to see if i have some suitable riding legs for that idea... i could use some pistoliers bodies for this...those i have and also a suitable steed...hmmm indeed...

wolverines healing power has shifted from time to time... he has survived bulletshots through his skull and even severe punishments... that lost hand is due to a storyline of that AoA thing... totaly set apart from the main universe plot and so i think for style the one handed wolvie has to be accepted as a given thing... tho i recall seeing claws extend from that stump too...
and yep deadpool is pretty viscious when it comes to humor and healing...after all he was created after wolvies image...when it comes to the healing...not the humor obviously^^
The Claws from the stump was the big dark secret in the storyline. Initially he fought with only one claw and then at a climax battle the second ones emerged from the stump. Ahh Age of Apocalypse; where Xavier had died and Magneto and Sabretooth were good guys.....

well for me magneto always was one of the good guys...he had a vision and he had a plan to arrive to that vision... smae with lord vader or for that matter...viktor von doom... all these great dictators have something dark in them that they used for the bettering of the world...the fact that they lost during these endeavors made them monsters in the eye of the opposition...but if they had succeded then all would praise them... there was even an artvovel of the anvengers... there von doom actually won for the better part of the story and he was the kind of ruler that brought peace and punctuality to the world...freedom was the only thing the world then lacked...makes ojne thinking some serious thoughts...eh?
