Alright so josh gave me a really bad painted and converted ( from a falcon) wave serpent. So I painted it up the way I wanted to paint an Eldar vehicle for the longest. I realize it might be how I want to paint the Tau when I eventually do them. Sooo I hope you guys like

Nifty Japanese Elder. Seems appropriate that you want to paint Tau in that scheme somehow...

Looks like a really nice centerpiece to a board.

LOoking good so far. I really like the mud effects. Are you going to add some more damage to the wave serpent as it looks a bit too clean for a crash, maybe add some burn marks where it has blown apart?

I like it. I'm planning on doing something similar but to use as wreak markers for my army.

I really like this. My only thought is that it should be a little more dirty.

+1 to more burnmarks, also, maybe hit the mud with some waterFX?

Also, maybe some burnt grass around the crash?

ok so I took some advice right away, but I did not take pictures until today. I added some wires coming out the top. I added more grass to give it a lifted turf look. Lastly I made the vehicle a bit more dirty.
let me know what you think now.

Its good, but still could use some more work, I like the burn makes, but again it needs to be more dirty, perhaps some bullet holes to add some more detail to it. The wires for the turret kinda look out of place =\ like an after thought. But over all its an interesting piece of terrain!

Probably work

I love the effects you've put on it, but to be honest, I kind of feel like it doesn't capture that "flaming wreckage careening into the ground as hard as it can" look and more has that "hey, someone came along and smashed up my BRAND NEW Serpent with a thunder hammer" look. It looks like it's just resting on top of the crater. If something crashed, I think it should be partially buried in the crater, not on top of it.

Still, better than I could do.

Don't think anyone else has mentioned it but your pics themselves are really good. As far as the Serpent itself goes, it's nice but, as others have said, it needs a little de-shinyfying.

well the wreck was not as bad as everyone thinks.
I mean any landing that you can walk away from is a good one right?
I worked kind of hard on the paintjob for the vehicle, and I didnt want to totally mess( cover) it up. I play orks and marines. and I always had the idea of that paintjob in the back of my head for years, and I just wanted to show off that pain scheme as well.

Thanks for all the Input guys, it helps me to build better peices of terrain.

Hmmmm....Maybe some washes and weathering? I think it's just too bright. Bring it down a couple of shades and really dirty up the front where it crashed. Otherwise, good idea and execution.
