I know release information says 2011. Anyone have a more specific time frame? There's only 2 quarters left in the year so I'm hoping it's closer to third quarter not the end of fourth.

We just received the information that the highly anticipated Super Dungeon Explore game from Soda Pop Miniatures should arrive in August or September.

Rumor has it that it should be out for gencon if not sooner.

Its an awsome game.

I like the look and concept...just wish it was prepainted. I hardly have time for what Ive got, never mind adding another games worth of minis to paint.

Whats my game?
Warmachine (Cygnar)
10/15mm mecha
Song of Blades & Heroes
Blackwater Gulch
X wing
Open to other games too

I love it. I think it looks amazing. Want a closer look at the contents though.

Awesome, thanks for the info. I've looked at the basic rules on the site and was thinking of starting this with my daughter. Hoping the overtly 'cuteness' of the figures would be appealing and the gameplay so far seems managable for a younger player. If the figures need painting, that too will be a good project to work together on.

I'd rather play "Wiggles, jiggles and giggles" - his anime mecha game rules (featuring the buxom mecha jocks from his other stuff)

I'm also eagerly anticipating this - hoping to get my wife into playing.

I'm wondering how much smaller the plastic pieces in this set are in relation to the metal miniatures they sell on their site. 54 Miniatures are a lot for the price. I'm just hoping they're not of the Battletech quality of plastics included in that box set. (Mind you, I have awesome plans for those BT plastics...Muah hah ha ha!)

The BT starter box minis are meant as a way to get those into the game playing ASAP, they aren't MEANT to be first quality miniatures, but gaming pieces.

I love the minis, but this castle, I wonder if they would be selling kits...

otherwise, Im gonna be casting up 20kg worth of Hirst Arts to make something similar

Oh yeah..I'm mostly just making a reference as to the material those minis were made of.

I have no idea what they plan, but I saw the castle first hand. As far as I can tell it was a one of a kind piece, probably a studio work or a commission or inside project, something of that sort nothing to indicate they would ever offer something like that, it was massive.

Hirst arts stuff would be incredible, I'd love to see that!

I'm working on a simple tile board for the starter rules in a wood frame with ceramic and glass tiles. (Edit: but it will just be flat) I'll try and get some images up when I get it done!

It was indeed a sight to see. Wish I'd gotten a chance to play on it, but the schedule was pretty packed.

Something like that would be awesome with the Hirst molds, but tiles sounds like a pretty good way to do it too..

Has anyone here tried out the starter rules? I read them over when they came out but haven't convinced anyone to try them out with me yet.

The castle set looks fantastic.

That said, I reckon it could be made from foamcore board and "stuff" fairly easily. Lots of sections of foamcore, detailed with card. Slather PVA mixed with fine grit over everything. Spray and drybrush. Detail with lichen, flock, etc.

The skill is detailing it nicely.

If you could make it modular so the layout could be changed around, that would be awesome.

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

This is exactly what I'm thinking of basing each modular piece as one room. That board looks to be 2'x2' which should make the rooms 8"x8".

Yes. I think it can be done nicely if you match up the entrances and exits in the middle of each side.

The height levels would complicate things a bit. You don't need 100% matching to get a good amount of variation, though. Perhaps there could be three standard levels.

The walls along each edge could be left almost blank but still painted, so they would butt up well, or look good if on the edge of the layout.
