So I have been out of the 40k world for awhile(loved 3rd, IGplayer forlife), and by that I mean I don't currently play but I still do paint and purchase some of the models. Any way I recently went crazy purchasing the new GKs and I was really happy with how they looked compared to the older GKs and of course that fact that they are plastic kits that can be easily customized and converted. Also the poses that you can put them in is also pretty cool. So that got me thinking about other 40k units and or characters that I think deserve a good make over.

So I guess just post what units you think need to be made plastic or just updated and redone, and of course explain why please

My list of minis on my S&*^ list are

IG storm troopers
Need a plastic kit for these guys
Why because the kasrkin and old 3rd edition guys need a serious update and options, I like the look and style but I'd like to pose them and equip them to suit my taste, im tired of seeing the same 20 mini painted different ways.

IG Catachans and Cadian 10 man squads
PS who just buys ten of these guys, 10 IG don't do squat on their own lol I use to love when they came in a twenty pack or they came with a chimera, any way i digress
They need a new plastic kit with some better options and more character when it comes to their faces and poses,
and the same old catachan models def need to be redone(been around to long), why would you have short sleeves! i'm in the military and we never have short sleeve or sleeve less anything because when your crawling through stuff or in bushes, you don't want any thing touching your skin,(that includes giant tropical bugs) it'll drive you crazy
WHy? boring models, 2nd edition models still look better

IG LRBT and variants
I love this tank to death but the new kit fell short
I'd like to see the turrent made bigger atleast, make it look more modern
WHy? I know its the dark ages in the future but come on, I don't think AFV design digressed that much

Assassin models
Would like to see a plastic box with all four of them in it with various options and def different poses, and they need to be scaled up alittle so they fit better to next to newer models
Why? Cool looking already but i'd like to see a new version

Sisters of Battle- the entire range
They seriously need some new plastic models for the whole range
Why- models have been the same forever, like the old ones but they need to put some life back into them, the same old poses are killing me

Dark Eldar
These models are so old!!...... jk love how they did over the entire range of models, really happy with the new look and feel, glad to see GW finally bring these guys out of the 80's lol

Any way have fun with the topic everyone

I suspect this thread will be moved to 40K discussions, but to be honest I think you covered it with your first post

Maybe the new plastic character approach (as seen in the lastest Fantasy release) could be expanded into 40K

Every metal unit. Seriously, doesn't matter if its newer or what, plastic is so much easier to work with.

Always a fun topic, I'll throw down my normal list of 3

IMPERIAL CITIZENS-a box of generic Imperial citizens some in robes, some in worker gear, some cyborg servitors wiht a good mix of weapons, open hands, tools etc. Suitable for use in IG, Inquisition Chaos Cults and other human armies, or Necromunda.

AQUILLA LANDER-It looks 10x better than the Chibi Hawk, maybe it can be the flier for the SoBs?

PLAGUE MARINES - The old metals were great, the current metal plastic kits look like marines who melted in the sun. I want to see them back in their old gasmask look.

Obviously some of these have already been mentioned but here's my list.

Stormtrooper IG (veterans)
All Sisters of Battle
Necron Immortals /flayed ones/ wraiths
Chaos Dreadnaughts
Thousand sons/ Plague Marines

They should also do a "heroes of the imperium" style plastic box set which could have 4 or 5 marine special characters. they could do something similar for all factions where you could buy 4 or 5 special characters at once on one set of sprues.

Also an Inquisitor henchmen pack(s) would be nice as the old models need upgrades.

My current wishlist;

1) Meganobz - Because, well, more options please.
2) Ork Warboss - More options! And no, the AOBR-one doesn't really count due to being monopose.
3) The Thunderfire Cannon - No explanation really needed?

Everything they are trying to make in FINECAST!

...

My number 1 is:

generic Aspect warriors

..with ad on sprues (or metal pieces) for the different temples.

What would be really great is if Jes Goodwin revisited the Eldar range with the same love and craftsmanship that was put into the Dark Eldar range, imagine the love!

1) plastic sob: why? the metal models are great but I want more variety in poses, options
2) Plastic commissars: why? the same really, poses and options
3) Plastic kasrkin and stormtroopers in general: why? It is mostly the Kasrkin sergeant which keeps me from building a second squad. he is super cool but if I paint another one he will just look to much like the first one...
4) Plastic plague marines, Thousand sons: why? they are cool, I want to paint a lot of them but just like the sob, I don't want x times the same pose
5) Plastic Mordian guard & Steel legion

All metal minis should be redone in plastic. And I agree that the IG infantry boxes should have more options. I know most people hate the look of those plastic catachans but I love em. I don't know why but I just love em. But that is a matter of opinnion anyway.

I shall rule the world someday utilizing my cuteness. And I already have one minion to help me do it!

Confused

For the armies I own, and therefore have an inkling of knowledge about:

Sanctioned Psykers-in a squad where the more models, the better, having the same 3 poses done 3 times each (without an overseer model too) looks a bit crappy.
Commissars. So many options, so much demand. I know it's not the most desperate case, but still...
Tau Commander & XV88 suits. Having an already top-heavy model have a bunch of metal blocks stuck to the top makes it fragile, not to mention a b*tch to work with.
Pathfinders. They're easy to convert, I know, but people like me just can't be bothered.
Stormtroopers, as stated already.
You may notice this list is all of the models I want, rather than practical ones we all want. Therefore, to pad it out:
Steel Legion. Now.

Sisters, sisters and more sisters. Basic troopers and change that silly rhino with an organ on the back...
Wraithguard.
Warp spiders.
Thousand sons.
Redo Berzerkers.
Kasrkin redo so you can do them as INQ storm troopers as well.

I know they've just come out but wracks and grotesques, they may not have the large number of option that wyches and warriors have but you can still take a lot of them. A small sprue like the chaos spawn could suit the the grots especially.

Raptors, nice models but need an update and not to be mounted on plumes of fire.
Havocs.

I enjoy metal models alot actually...
I like having metal characters in an army, but plain troops is just too much, so here's my list:

Want done:

Armageddon Steel Legion
Vostroyan Firstborn
Tallarn Desert Raiders
Mordian Ironguard
Valhallan Icewarriors
SoB
Stormtroopers Cadian/Catachan
Thousand Sons
Raptors
Plaguemarines
Tau Pathfinders
Eldar Aspect Warriors

Redone:

IG tank kits
Guardsmen squads

Wow, yet again when this thread comes up, I have to be the first to give love to the Daemon range. Plaguebearers, as the ONLY troop choice NOT in plastic, deserve it. Also, plastic fiends would be great too-deserved it more than the bloodcrushers, even though those are amazing models in plastic and I have some. I'll also second the need for henchmen (specifically assassins and crusaders with PW and SS) in plastic box sets. If they made those in plastic, I'd start a GK army (inquisition only). Being metal is the only thing stopping me (besides the price and recent actions causing my loyalty to waver).

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Anything that is going to come out in Finecast, I would rather be presented in plastic. Any model or squad with options should also be done in plastic. Special characters or units with very few options should be done in metal. I like the weight of metal, personally, but if it is the choice between Finecast or plastic, I choose plastic.
