I entered myself in a tourney in August So I Modified a 1750 list which worked quite well down to 1500.

Well, it seems like it would be a fun list to play. However I do have a few issues:

Firstly, equip all of your kans with the same weapon. I like grotzookas the best personally. If you are working with what you have, you could either scratchbuild some duplicates. If you're stuck with those three, at least split up the kans each into their own unit so as to be able to split targets and firepower more effectively.

Second, it looks like you're playing a footslogging list but your boyz don't have much protection. A KFF is a must. More kans can help with that too.

Also, footslogging nobz are quite a fire magnet, and probably won't make it across the board. Maybe take out a few coptas for a trukk or battlewagon.

In general the fast attack units will probably end up zooming forward unsupported and dying early. If you add anything, cut back on them first.

That's my 2 cents.

I think the Warboss should swap the TLS for a Kombi-Skorcha. Same points, better gun by far. Also, look into an Attack Squig. The extra S10 PW attack is well worth the 15 points.

In the Nobz squad, drop the 'Eavy Armor and go with Cybork Bodies instead. Same points cost, and you get a saving throw against so many more attacks... including the ones you really need saves against. A Waaagh! Banner is a must. The extra WS is clutch. One of 'em should have a Bosspole. I'd work on changing their wargear so every Nob is slightly different. This will allow you to abuse wound allocation, which will be a must for this squad.

In the Loota squad, drop the Mek for an extra Loota. More S7 shots. I would also try and get a 2nd Loota squad in here somehow.

Stormboyz... well, they're not really all that good. They're overcosted by Ork standards, and they kill themselves off. They'll also outrun your protection if you decide to use Kans or KFFs to protect your army ultimately (which I think you're gonna need to do).

I would make a decision as to how you wanna decide to protect the boyz in your list. Either a Kan-Wall, or Battlewagons. You're already leaning towards a Kan-Wall build, so I'll try and cater my advice towards helping you make a decent list that employs that strategy. In either case, you're gonna want a Big Mek w/ a KFF as a 2nd HQ choice.

I'm a big supporter of Deffkoptas, but you're running them differently than I do. I would take squads of 1, and give them Saws... more like little Suicide units. The reason for taking them in small squads is because casualties force you to take LD tests, which they'll fail. You don't have to worry about that if they're not in a group. You can save points by changing this 5-Kopta group into 2 or 3 suicide Kopta units.

The Kans should all be carrying the same weapons. Squadrons have to fire at the same target, so lump weapons together so when you say "it's good to fire Grotzookas at this squad" and "I wanna fire Rokkits at this over here" you only fire weapons that are good against those units.

All that said, this would be more of what I'd like to play with a similar list:

hmmm, something to think about once i have ensured the family is thoroughly fed, they kinda get upset if they're not

I know a lot of people tend to not like stormboys but i'm having great success with them. i use them aggressively to lock up their elites until the boys turn up. They are usually dead by round three, but they have caused loads of damage.

Have only recently acquired the Kans so i still have to work out how to run them properly. if i do split the 3 cans up wont that diminish the wall effect?

I don't know what you mean. We're not suggesting that you break them into different squads, we're suggesting that you kit all the weapons the same.

And in my list above, there are 9 Kans; to create a proper wall.

Well, I've been practicing with this list and it seems to be working quite well. Getting more win's than lassess, and getting lots of Draws in objective type games. apparently 30 shootas are hards to move from an objective, if they don't let the enemy get to close.

Would love to get more Kans, I love my kans. and really need more lootas, but hey, don't have the cash ATM.

I have a tourney on for tomorrow. And this is the list i'm taking. I'm not going to win, i'm recently new at this game (only been playing for a year), i'm in it for the fun.

I'll be taking notes so hopefully i'll get a battle report or two posted in the future.

Battle missions went OK, I got 1 win and 2 losses. I play against the people who came second (deamons) and first (orks).
The win was against Space puppies, an i am realy impressed with that. Battle reports to come

I'd agree with wtwlf123 about the list he put up, though i'd take the Nobz out and stick another 30 boyz in... Admittedly there is less punch overall, but if you're footsloggin then the Nobz will get pounded on. I played the other night and my diversified unit of 10 nobz got battlecannoned to bits. Remember str 8+ weapons instakill nobz... And there are plenty of str 8 weapons out there!

hmmmm.... I know it's good advice, but......I Don't think i could ever give up my nob squad, I have had so much success with them. I do hide them behind the kans, that seems to protect them If there is one thing i love more than me nobs then that would be my Kans. ( i am so glad i didn't write that sentence in propper englkish spelling, because that would look really strange)

getting a nice big tax refund soon, so i'm buying more kans, and more lootas, will probably drop the stormboyz

Sadly Stormboyz are overpriced for what they can do at the moment!!

If you stick Zagsruk in there it can be interesting, but there are still better units for the similar job and points cost!

You can grab a squad of Gretchen too. They're pretty useful in a lot of Ork lists.

Yeah... They are ideal in objective based games.. In all out fight games, not so much, though they do have their uses!!

Ya, 66% of the games are objective based, so they're not a bad investment for 40 points. Have 'em walk in out of reserve and go to ground on top of your objective. 11 models with a 3++ on your home objective is pretty boss for 40 pts. It also allows the rest of your army to push forward without having to leave a squad back on base. Which in turn makes it harder for your opponent to dedicate a squad to taking your objective. Really, it's win-win for all objective-based games. Especially at the 1500 point level, where your opponent doesn't have disposable squads to send to go fight Gretchen without running the risk of being completely overwhelmed at their own objective.

Great advice, i realy like my gretchin models. Iit is about Time i dusted them off and brought them into the Fray.

Have them as either 10, 19 or 29... Never go to 20, or 30 exactly, as you'd then have to get the extra runtherd!!! Well you can if you want, but to keep the points down, and the effectiveness up, go for 19 or 29... or less than 19....

Yeah, why pay 120 for a unit of 33 when a unit of 31 costs 107? That 13 points is another overpriced Stormboy!!!!

i'm ditching the stormboys for a while, i'm going to get 10 lottas and Big Mek with a shock attack.

I played a game on the week end and used a mek as a proxy shock attack, that is one fun weapon.....

Some day.....2 SAG's and 3 Looted Wagons......
