I think walkers can, but nothing else. Could be wrong, I've always pivoted in the movement phase.

Walkers can, and infantry can. Vehicles other than walkers cannot.

Explicit change from 4th edition, so now only walkers can pivot in the shooting phase.

Well, eldar with star engines can pivot, because they can move in the shooting phase, but give up shooting....

Infantry are also given explicit permission to turn to face their targets in the shooting phase.

So walkers and infantry can pivot in the shooting phase.

Edit: Rereading the walkers section "unlike infantry, a walker has a facing which influences where it can fire." So I guess for infantry the implication is that you draw line of sight from the eyes through the back of the model's skull. So infantry don't pivot.

COntext was vehicles, hence "only walkers" - and only then because they shoot as infantry.

Infantry (well, all non-vehicles and walkers) are supposedly required to turn - and face, however normally doesnt make a difference to non-walkers.

Ah, the post before yours said "walkers and other non-vehicle models," which is the context in which I read your post. Hence the confusion.

No worries - joys of a text only medium!
