I was merely curious as to what everyone thoguht about this and have set up a poll as a fun experiment to see what you guys think, I have plans to also set-up polls around 2-3 other sites and see how different demographics relate to this poll.

Not at all. That's like trying to put down "algebra" as a fluency.

If technalingua was a language, then yes. Otherwise, no.

Unless there are people going around and talking in computer code, and heaven forbid that conversation would take FOREVER, then no. Computer languages are not valid for anything other than programing a computer. They're vastly too inefficient for typical human communication.

To the OP, do you actually talk in computer language? since the answer is (hopefully) no, than, no, you are not bilingual. That implies that you speak two languages.

No.
The ability to speak another language means that you are able to communicate with another sentient being. A computer is not sentient; it is a machine, it does what it you tell it to do. Computer languages are so-called because there are different ways to input data into them.
There are different ways to cook eggs.... Am i bi-lingual because i can cook eggs in different ways?

I think that you need to be able to verbally communicate in it (joke conversations with other nerds don't count) . Until the Turing Test is passed, no.

Theoretically speaking, we could choose to communicate in computer code. Hell, if we wanted to we could talk in binary or hex. I just can't think of any reason anyone would want too. It would take a significantly longer amount of time just to get a letter out.

rofl, I was merely curious what people thought, and I admittedly was a computer science major and talk in it at times jokingly to friends. some times they have NO idea what I mean (friggin glitchy parameters I guess >.< other times they reply and we have a good laugh.
The thing is like was said earlier, it would be possible to have a conversation in any "language" but I will agree that it would be gratuitous to say the least, however I disagree that it doesn't make some one bilingual... if some one invents a language that only they know, filled with syllables and such to actually speak it, they know another language... however, it is highly irrelevent to any useful real life applications unless it is taught to some one else as a secret code of sorts.

Computer languages do not fulfill Chomsky's (yes, yes, he's a douche, but very good at language) syntactic criteria.
