Just a small note that dakka has moved servers today to a complete beast of a machine. Things might be a little slow or broken over the next 2 days, but then there should be speed like we have never seen before (in a good way).
Even the search engine appears to be working (mostly) for now.
Everything will hopefully be better than normal by monday once I iron out any issues from the change in configuration and get the database properly tweaked on the new server.

Yay! It feels very fast even now. Also looking forward to using a working search function  Edit: Though it is not so good whenever it does whatever it just did

Oops.. had missed one step in the configuration process and only allocated 1/20th of the usual memory to the server. Sorry about those couple of quick restarts folks!

Phew - was beginning to get the shakes when I saw Dakka would be down all day! Not to mention the fact that it is pouring down here and I am stuck indoors all day with nothing to do!

Those were pretty much my thoughts - I actually painted some little plastic men as Silver suggested. Just not many...
Looking forward to seeing the new server in all it's fully working glory Lego!

No, we use the DCM and advert income to cover the cost of our hardware and services (like mail, DNS, etc).
