Hey All,

Thought after all the work I have put in I would post some pictures of my Ultramarines. Some back ground - started these is Decemeber and I have around 1800 points so far all painted. This is my first army/ first experince painting minatures. I am fairly happy how they have turned out so far.
Further im happy to say I have yet to play with any non painted/ based minatures in my army. I find fully painted armies no matter the size add to the game over all.

Any comments are welcome.. enjoy!

That's an impressive looking army. Just get those barrels drilled out and it will really make the termies look awesome!
That is a lot of minis painted in 6 months too - kudos to you!

Very clean and neat style, the sort of army that you'd see in a display case or an instruction manual.

That said, that look fits ultramarines perfectly, keep going, can't wait to see more (if there is more that's a rather healthy sized army.)

Great looking army one question though can you explain how you add so much detail in the eyes.

Thanks for the inspiring words everyone!

I have a few more units to do before I can call my ultramarines done and move on to another army either 40k or fantasy havent decided.
In the next few months I will be working on 2 Rhinos, 1 more tac squad, drop pod, Crusader, and special weapons for the termies and thats all she wrote!

@ Wookiedestroyer

I do my eyes abit differently. While the mini is primed black I paint the eyes on (white) Then I fix them up and give them shape with touch up black paint. Then I paint the skin around the eye leaving some black exposed to have them stand out.... though the GF says it looks like they are wearing eyeliner. Then for the pupil I use a Pigmapen .005mm. It makes the pupils 10000000 times easier to do... the first few were done with a paint brush... believe me the pupils come out way better with a pigma pen.

I recommend putting the black of the eye going all the way top to bottom. It prevents the eye from looking like it is "wandering." It also is a lot easier to do.

Other than that, they are pretty sharp!

You have done a great job on those guys. I'm pretty impressed. They look really cohesive as an army.

Only thing that bothers me.... Why have you painted the nozzles of the Multimelta on the dread like those were two lenses?

Yeah, what's with that? It's quite a shame that you should paint over them, because they are already painted so well.

But other than that, you have a magnificent army.

Your paintjobs are by and large VERY good, with the exception of the black wash pooling on your predator. If you drilled your barrels out and trimmed those moldlines (I saw some on the plasma pistol) your army could look at least 10% better, no question.

truly greatlooking army you got there! the only thing I "don't" like is that those barrels that aren't drilled out ;P and the barrels on the dread and plasma guy.. In my opinion they shouldn't really be like that.. I mean a berrel wouldn't be looking like a lens of some sort (talking about the lenses.. they look AWESOME!!). Maybe the targeting lens but not the barrel. Like it is now it looks like they can't shoot at all. but other than that, REALLY GREAT WORK! love it! And keep it up!

Hey everyone,

thanks again for the great comments and suggestions.

I made the Multi melta gun look like lenses due to the fact I was new to the game/ world of 40k and really didnt understand how they "worked". I painted them that way just to make them interesting to look at. Now knowing different I am going to try a few different effects on my future models.

Question for everyone what do you use to drill out the barrels?

Also I agree with the pooling on the Predator.... I am hoping to cover most of that up with some weather and mud effects which I will need to get around too. (I was rushed to get the Pred on the game board)
