Our Dwarfs range is expanded with a new hero, a Dwarf Rune Master.



The model shows the Dwarf sorcerer imbued in magic energy, in the process of casting a spell.

He actually looks a tad bit evil there, could use him for a chaos dwarf methinks

I kind of like the model but having the words Dwarf and Sorcerer in the same sentence is wrong.

Sorry Felix, I am a HUGE fan of your work, but this one just doesn't quite seem like it will mesh well with my Dwarf army. I am presently very much enjoying the AoW Slayers and the other Dwarf characters, however. Maybe an AoW Anvil of Doom sometime in the future?!

Replace the christmas star with a big honkin' hammer head, and you've got yourself a fine runesmith.

Yeah that is the vibe he gives me. That rod is just not doing it for me. Everything else is wonderful, just not the princess fairy wand, thing.

I dont really know about the rest but i really liked that dwarf miniature and i surely gonna grab one for my dwarves army! The mask is amazing and the pose as well!

I just dont understand the tactic involved in showing off greys...

I have to wonder if they've mixed some pics up, as up until now the art has tended to match the figure in question, and this doesn't at all.

Plus the fact, everything on this model says Chaos Dwarf, from the full face mask, armour style, eight pointed (lightning bolted?) Staff and so on.

Also I note the Fig says Rune Master, but in this thread and at their site they refer to it as a Sorceror.

A bit of a odd one to be sure, if its as intended, well I can see many Chaos Dwarf players being chuffed, while Dwarf players are scratching their heads to be honest.

I understand the evil POV, but I think he's just plain grim...and a badass to boot

Very original design, and I like the scepter. It looks like he has no neck, though. Maybe from another angle it will look better.

I think with the faceplate being removable and with an alternate weaponhead available he'd have been an awesome kit. As-is he's a little ho-hum. Not bad, but not great either. 7ish/10.

I wish they would wait and show off painted examples too though. Though I think this release was accidentally leaked before they intended to show it off.

cool sculpt, but i'm with the others: this guy just screams Chaos Dwarf...

It's a way of previewing models that aren't ready for release yet. The green allows people to see the finished sculpt before the casters and the painter have a chance to get their hands on it. Essentially it's saying "this isn't ready yet, but look what we have in store for you". Also, (not that AoW is at much risk of this) it lets people see the sculpt so if the studio paintjob is terrible, they can look at it and say "oh, that's just the paintjob that sucks". Works out for the company both ways (generates interest, and acts as a backup in case people take issue with the paintjob.

You guys need to remember long beards wear face masks as a badge of honor I have no problem with my rune smith wearing one snip off the end of the staff add a hammer head and done rune smith or keep the end chaos dwarf sorcerer.

It is called "building up interest".
And yes, GW doesn't understand that concept either
