Ok so based on the codex and army builder, Lemartes (the BA DC chaplain) has a jump pack. But this is a FREE downgrade, is it possible to run him without it and just a normal backpack?

I don't see why this isn't possible as it doesn't cost anything positive or negative points-wise.

Just because he has a Jump Pack doesn't mean you have to have the entire DC with Jump Packs.

No I agree, but at the same time I don't wanna run two DC's one with jetpacks and another inside a rhino or LR

Lemartes is NOT an independent character. He is an upgrade character for the Death Company.

What he means(correct me if I am wrong) isd that he doesn't want to have to forfeit his transpot just because of Lemartes.

What weaponery do you use and how do you deploy them in the first place?

Arm them with TL LC and MM,sponsons,and extra armour and locator beacon.Load it with a CC dread and CC unit.Place it behind a building/ruin.If there is none,deep strike it next to an enemy unit.It can fire the sponsons and 2 weapons,MM at the tanks if there.Assualt with the squad.

All for 260pts.this is just more expensive than a bare LR,and is faster,transports more and has more firepower.

You would probably put up the extra 10 anyway on a LR

Jump pack, not jet pack (Tau have jetpacks; Marines have jump packs).

And the Storm Raven has a specific exception to the jump pack transport restriction.

The Stormraven allows J/packs, counting them as 2 models.

The GK SR is even better,transport wise.It can carry 12 powered armoured modals,or 6 Termies,like the BA one,but it counts the personal teleporter intercepter squad,which are jump infantry,as 1 modal,instaed of 2 like the Jump Pack.

Are you sure?I think I read it could carry 12 Power/Artificer/Carapace armoured modals or 6 Terminators+ a Draednought.

It specifically states JI count as 2 models, so only 6 of them.

But the personal teleporter says they MOVE as jump infantry (I think) not that they are JI (I think)

Units with personal teleporters are jump infantry.

Doesn't matter. They become jump infantry as well as being scouts.

The only one who gets a pass on this in the FAQ is the Dreadknight.

Actual rules quote: "Units with personal teleporters are Jump Infantry." page 28
