As above. Placed 2nd at a doubles with a dual SR list. GK SR are nasty, as you can easily have a 3+ cover save....

That's fine and I wish i could remove his jump pack, but i can't so i refuse to use something that is so squishy as a SR. Yea they are heavily armed but idk their armor is to low for my liking.

and deep striking anything sucks, you can't assault on that turn and therefor take away the BA's main talent.

Noone said to DS. Go flat out and get a cover save instead.

That was a rumor that turned out to not be true. The only armies that can take a Stormraven are BA and GK.

Perhaps GW will introduce Stormravens in other Marine chapters someday, but as of now, you can't take them.

FLGS has a HOUSE RULE,so I can take them while gaming there.

It is new tech developed by the BA,and has been santioned by Mars.Because the GK have access to anything and everything,they get them too.

That way, upon disembarkation, if I think the DC needed a Chaplain to wreck face with, he could stick around and charge with the DC. If a Chaplain wasn't necessarily needed, I could disembark him separately and assault a vehicle. Or, break him off afterwards, once they've already gotten their charge and I don't want him being dragged around by their Rage.

Also, I had 5 other units in the army that could succumb to the Red Thirst, so having Red Thirst on a roll of 3 instead of 1 helped me make almost all my units Fearless and Furious in each round of 'ard Boyz.

Spamming Sanguinary Priests imo is better overall as they give FNP and Furious Charge, without having to rely on dice-rolls.

I don't rely on them being Fearless and Furious - it's just a nice perk. And If I have 4 units, that would be 200 pts of Sanguinary Priests, which are 4 more kill points, and don't give all the bonuses to my Death Company.

I can take Astorath for 20 points more, eliminate the need for a Chaplain in my HQ/Elite slot, have a model that can destroy tanks from 18" away, still get Fearless and Furious Charge and for only 1 Kill Point. Not to mention the re-rolls for Death Company.

A unit with a Sanguinary Priest will still break and run off the table. A unit that is Thirsty will not. However, I still do use a Priest with my Terminators. The bubble that he emits from the Stormraven is pretty nice.

ya but there was a chap with 10 backpack wearing DC and Astorath... i'm just not getting the way they all fit

ok so i've been investigating this list of yours with 2 storm ravens..

so at 2000 points (which i'm assuming the tourny was)

Astorath 10 dc (without jump packs) inside one storm raven
then the 10 with jump packs and lamartes in the other.

that would only leave you two scoring units if you are using assault troops

The first staement could be correct.he second would be wrong.A SR can carry 12 modals in scout,power or atrificer armour(no pack),or 6 termies or JI modals,+ the dreadnought in both cases.

ya i know and that's what i'm trying to figure out. He mentioned his twin stormraven list and what was in them..

My point is there couldn't be 10 DC and Lemartes,all with JP in a SR.

Edit: You're assuming Jump Packs and Lemartes. I didn't take Jump Packs on anything in my army (except Astorath) and I didn't take Lemartes. My point was to simply show you that, if you wanted a full unit of DC, you could take 10 DC + Lemartes in a Stormraven and be fine.
