Damn I hate the fact you do the things I want to do, but at least I get to see them done well

The gang is brilliant especially the cars top notch on those bad boys what did you use make and scale love the heavy gunner pose used brilliantly that is epic and stolen for future use

Well done on 1st place but well deserved that was som awesome work and conversions, plus the lighting in the ship is just EPIC really carries the spooky theme perfectly and I ain't a big fan of lighting on models.

Overall top job all round but then you always do

Thanks man

The cars are 1/48 scale die cast. I wanted something cheap, but still pretty good looking, and they fit the bill nicely. They scale well with 28mm minis, and they're almost always easy to take apart with a screwdriver so you can work with the drivers or interior.

They work a treat I try to use 1/50 scale which is a bit limiting, but larger vehicles like trucks and such are all that scale ?
The toy car industry is a nightmare and all over the place , o wait the same as the toy soldier industry then

Any way great job on both and love the name fits perfectly with R@H background, have you got Big Moma ?

She is skull crushing some dude in her hand would look great with your set up, mind you she is ogre sized which shocked me when my models FINALY turned up

Thanks all,

Yeah, there's an incredible selection of trucks & cars in the 1/43 scale. I even found a tanker truck for transporting the precious juice around the wasteland.

But today, I went a different direction. I split a box of the Age of Sigmar stuff to get at the awesome Khorne models, and I have the first lot painted up:

These guys make really badass looking World Eaters. Next up, I'll get to work on the cultists.

I also finished up a few other models.

Here's a track for my wasteland gangers:

And here's the squad shot of the 6 kataphron conversions I finished up last week:

I finished up a few projects this week that have been brewing for a while.

First up, here's my dunecrawler trio.

I decided to build one as a myrmidon priest and the others as slave-linked servitors. The trio is an air interdiction maniple.

Next up, I finished up 2 more World Eaters - both are lords:

The juggernaut needs a bigger base, but I'm short on 50mm skull bases atm.

Hey all,

I'm doing some work for the looted tyranid army again - hobby schizophrenia I know.

So this is going to be a looted tyrannocyte. I think you get the gist of what I'm working toward, but obviously there's a lot more work to be done.

More to come!

I've got a quick update today; I finished all the putty work and assembly on the looted tyrannocyte. I'm working on using all the spare bits to build a small spore mines and one of the big ones.

More to come,

Hey all,

So I'm going to be honest. I didn't enjoy working on the tyrannocyte. I'm not sure what it is about that kit, but I just don't like the look of it. Luckily, it's done now, and the next looted gribbly was much more fun to work on - a mucolid spore.

This guy was a blast to put together. The grot is riding his spore into the enemy ah la "Dr. Strangelove," and he and the boys have given it a few upgrayddz to make it run better. The boyz were unnerved by the mine's lack of a proppa face, so they added one of those on too.

Next up, I'll put together the 6 basic mines, and then a real treat - a looted dimachaeron.

More to come,

Dan

With work wrapping up for a few weeks, I've got a bit more time, so today I got a bunch of work done on the next big gribbly for the looted 'nids, a dimachaeron.

Here are the WIP shots so far:

The main focus of the model is the mega-dread klaw arm. It's a great bit, and really looks good stuck out in front of the model.

I've got a ton of work left on this guy. It's going to have a slaver on the back to drive him into battle with a whip, and obviously it'll have plenty more orky bits added.

More to come,

Dan

Hi all.

I managed to get the dimachaeron almost entirely put together this weekend. The last thing she needs will be to add a few exhaust pipes.

As you can see, I went with a slightly different take on looting this nid. The runtherd is driving him into battle, rather than working up some sort of steering mechanism like the other big monsters.

Next up, all these nids get painted blue!

Very cool idea and the Dimachaeron looks very well converted

The Dimachaeron looks totally badass, I can't wait to see it on the table with the rest. It's going to look phenomenal once painted.

The mucolid spore is really an attractive model. I thought it was kind of ugly and that it didn't fit with the Nids all that well before it was painted, but it blends Zoanthrope & Venomthrope style pretty well, and I think it will fit in great next to them.

I love the grots, they really bring the conversions to life.

LeCaty: Thanks for the feedback! These guys haven't seen the tabletop yet, so I wasn't sure if the conversions looked good to an objective eye.
Zambro: Thanks man, they've been a blast to work on.

It was a busy modeling weekend. The Dimachaeron is shaping up to be a bigger project than I thought; the sculpt is chock full of detail, and the conversion work always takes on a bit of a life on its own. Never-the-less, I finished most of the paint and assembly work on him today. All that's left is to finish up a bit of detail, paint the Kaptain, and work on his base. This guy has been a blast so far, and I'm looking forward to finishing him up.

I also finished the 6 spore mines that came with the tyrannocyte kit. Converting them wasn't too sexy, but they'll fit into the theme nicely.

Here are the pics:

I'll try to get the dimachaeron finished up tonight (except the rider; he'll take a bit longer), and then when I get back in town next Saturday, wrap up the rider and start on the Tyrannocyte.

Stay tuned,

Dan

After a bit of travel, I'm back at the paint desk. Today I finished up the final details on the looted Dimachaeron. Here he is:

The model was huge and detailed, but it was fun to work on, and it's done now! the big question is: Will it survive shipping?

I hope he survives shipping!

He looks lordly, intimidating, and awesome. I just hope he survives long enough to destroy some stuff, but even if he doesn't, he'll look good going down in a hail of fire.

You've outdone yourself again, I'm so excited to see it in person.

Today I finished up the last of the looted nids - the dimachaeron. They'll all go into the mail tomorrow, and I'll get started on the next project.

Here are the pics of the tyrannocyte, and a group shot of the whole lot:

On an urelated note, our gaming group started a Blood Bowl 7's league last week, and my first games are Wednesday. Masochistically, I picked up a halfling team and got them painted up for the season. With that, I present the Mootland Cock-Knockers:

After working on more complex projects, these guys were ridiculously easy. They went together in just a few hours, and they're now ready to hit the pitch!

In a burst of inspiration this weekend, I finished up the Cock-Knockers and built a dugout for them. Blood bowl has been a blast the last few weeks, and it's got me inspired.

Here's the work so far:

The dugout itself is mostly insulation foam, plasticard, craft sticks, and food.

It was a fun side project; next up, the stands!

BRILLIANT !!!!! I always love your updates,it's the little extra you add that makes things so much fun and enjoyable to look at.

The team is great but I have to say the dugout stills the show, the food and iced bunds Is just so many kinds of cool plus the vibrant colour makes an all round winner.

Thanks for putting a smile on my face

It's been a busy week, and Blood Bowl has loomed large on my mind as the league progresses, but I still found a bit of time for an old side project.

First, here is the next Blood Bowl team on the bench - the Brass Keep Pipe Hitters' Union:

They're based on the marauders out of the new AoS box and a few skull reapers of Khorne.

Next, I started working on the general for my Army of Light. I used the new Stormcast big guy as the base, but I wanted him to have a more traditionally angelic appearance, so I kit-bashed in a nice set of feathery wings and a few high elf parts. Here's the result so far:

edit: oops, I forgot I also finished up six more angels for the Army of Light. These are based on the excellent Ex-illis angel miniatures that I stumbled across a few weeks ago. They are a plastic multi-part kit, and if you're in the market for this sort of model, I encourage you to scope them out. They were affordable, easy to assemble, and look great. I converted them with a few leftover bits from my high elves box and some 30k shoulder pads.

Anyway, enough waxing on about the models - here are the pics:

More to come!

Dan

I finished up the general this morning. Here's the Archangel Mikael; he's ready to lead the forces of Basilea in a kings of war game.

He's a pretty intimidating model - just what the boys in white need.
