I still like the songs that first got me into them. I haven't even checked since to see if they did anything new.

They certainly sound interesting but they're a lot like Starburst. They taste great, but too much makes you sick of them

Saw them live while I was at university and they hurt my ear

They are OK in shot bursts, but most of their stuff gets old quickly and is very samey.

Although I do have to admit that there are a lot of songs / bands that I probably would never have listened to if not for Guitar Hero. That's mostly because I'm old and old people stop listening to new music though.

All the old stuff on GH I was familiar with, but it's where I found out that I really like Muse.

They suck to put it mildly. I saw them at a concert I was at, and their live show is ASS! Yes all in caps, ASS! The gak on their CD is so complex they cant play half of it. Id say they are a studio band for sure, you know where you can play 8 guitars at once and pile it all together. But on a personal level? I still cant stand their music

From what I hear, their songs are edited (namely sped up) and that the band actually can't play anywhere near as fast as the songs play.

And that is precisely the reason why I only listen to their stuff on my computer...every once in a while anyway.

First one or two songs I heard I liked, then started to realize all the same with ridiculous amount of, and long, solos. Then went off them, found them again a few months ago and realized why I stopped listening to them.

They sound like John Petrucci riding a unicorn vomiting methamphetamines all over a guitar. It's sort of the reason why I can't listen to deathcore, because every single fething song they both make is 180BPM that never, ever, ever, ever stops and has guitar solos to kill time.

Well... I have a lot of their songs on my iPod for when I play runescape (or any RPG for that matter)you know... cause it puts me into a stupor that allows me to grind out xp all day long. That being said dad is going to be depressed when he finds out his new heroes are not really playing that fast.

I can think of many examples that is on par or even better, but they're still a fun band to listen to.
