When someone has a Jack with a ROF of 2 and they use a focus point to allow themselves to make an additional attack, do they get 1 or 2 more attacks? I know it sounds like a noob-ish question, but the quick-start rules aren't exactly clear.

Thanks in advance for any help.

A jack with one ranged weapon has one initial attack with that weapon.

If ROF is greater than 1, then the jack may spend one focus to allow an additional shot, one Focus spent per additional shot.

Example, Cygnar Charger. He gets one initial attack with his gun, but it has a ROF 2, so after making the first shot, he can spend a focus to shoot again.

Bam, said the lady!

What Skrulnik said.

RoF is simply the amount of attacks the weapon is allowed to make in a single turn, including the Initial attack

Thanks for the answer fella's, very much appreciated.

Another question though...When you modify your attack, do you need all 3 dice to roll matches or do only 2 of the 3 dice need to match?

I'm assuming you mean for a critical hit? Only two of the three need to match for those.

Not sure I understand the question. If you're talking about critical effects, you need two dice to show the same number, whether you're rolling two or three, and you still have to roll high enough to actually hit.

Awesome, thanks for the answers! Sometimes the rules to warmachine seem so much simpler compared to 40k that I feel really lame for even asking. Its hard to force myself to think in simpler mechanics after almost a decade and a half of 40k and Necromunda.

I know what you mean, I read the section on units a million times trying to figure out how exactly targeting works until I realized that every model in the squad attacks and is attacked independently, essentially.

Warmahorde rules are very literal. They (usually) mean exactly what they say. For instance they differentiate between "within" and "completely within". PP also has a very good index so use that if you have questions.

Its an amazing game system, its just a little sketchy when you go from a game thats jam packed with rules and supplements, to a game that really doesn't have many. I'm glad that I'm not the only one out there though!

As for PP, they did an outstanding job with their games and they really have fantastic mechanics. If all goes well I can see myself leaving the 40k realm and establishing more of a Warma/Hordes group. GW has a great story line, but their "customer loyalty" department really needs some help.
