Just on my mind right now, did anyone else feel that earthquake? Im at the new jersey shore, and i felt it, as well as i heard some people in mass felt it. Thoughts?
Edited thread title: Virginia is not part of the "USA north coast," whatever that means.

I was in a gun store when it happened, at first I thought it was somebody from upstairs but some stuff fell off of the shelves and the counter shook as well. So I felt my first earthquake today. And it happened in Virginia, we're not part of the Northeast.

Apparently it was a 5.8 quake in Virginia. We felt it here in Philly. One of our reservationists just got off the phone with someone in Canada that said they felt it.
Wasn't too bad here, just a mild shake. I felt far worse when I lived in California. But it must have sucked to be in Virginia today...

I was in my car for lunch breah and had just finished reading Mechanicum when my car started to shake, but I thought it was the wind at first. I got out and saw my car and the car next to it swaying, but felt no wind so I started to walk up the hill to get in the building and saw everyone coming out of it.
Seems like it was pretty minor overall.

Was walking back from lunch in DC, was one of only a few people on the street corner to feel it. Then everyone started pouring out of the buildings.

Cell service is a little wonky. But if he's in Virginia Beach where I live he should be 100% fine, some things shook but the only things that fell were on the edge of the shelves to begin with.

Yeah, he's fine. Lynchburg is actually farther away from it than I am, my brother's girlfriend goes to school there and she said she was alright. The biggest worry is the nuke plant near the epicenter, but that should be okay too.

I'm about 34 miles south of the epicenter. It was a gentle roll for about 3-5 min and didn't rattle us hard enough to even knock a cup over. No discernible aftershocks so far.

Referred to as the Central Coast by most in my experience.
Didn't feel anything here in NJ (northwest jersey) which is good because I was having a needle jabbed in my arm by the doctor, woulda sucked if he missed..., but friends felt it in Massachusetts and NYC. Personally I think everyone overreacted. The earth vibrates a little and everyone thinks its the end of the world.

NEW FLASH!
Imperial Navy devestated by sudden and unexpected space quake
A sudden and unexpected space quake caused the Imperial Star Destroyer Devestator to lose orbit and crash into the planet today. The bridge was smashed open and Admiral Huntarr is feared dead from decompression.
As if to mock the Galactic Empire, the Rebel Blockade Runner Liberator remained safely in orbit despite the space quake.
Dread Cthulhu had no comment at press time.
