I had this model for a while.
I was going to try to make him Mk4 but it was too much work and was'nt looking that good,so I changed directions.
Another of my all time favorite characters is Lexandro D'Arquebus from Space Marine.
I decided to make the big guy him after getting some brass etch from MeanBob.
I wanted the Lexandro Icon for the Left Pauldron but it was too small,so I moved it to the right as personal Heraldry.
I also got a Large Fist which is perfect size for the Chapter Badge.
Being the Pre-Heresy addict that I am,I had to add at least some pieces of armor from that period,for this I gave him Mk5 Greaves and Cod Piece.
I used a GW fist icon to overlay the Aqullia and added plasticard to reenforce the neck joint,make the armor more Fist style too.
He is built and Primed and ready for stage one,Hull Red undercoat as Armor primer,like they use for tanks.

It's great! One stud's positioning bothers me though

Great! The groin stud is distracting, but hey, it's your model. Space Marine certainly humanized the astartes more than some of the current novels, so the groin stud isn't entirely inappropriate.

I hope you're planning to make his face unique.

Wow, that's really impressive. Can't wait to see it painted. If you wouldn't mind, next time you post an update, could you put a normal-sized model or something next to it for a scale comparison? I'm trying to use the stuff in the background as a comparison and it's not really working.

As an aside, I like the groin stud, simply because it gives me an excuse to say <chortle> groin stud.

I reworked him a bit took off the neck guard,it looked good but the studs were messed up a little and it covers the head too much.
I am resetting the studs and removeing the Infamous Cod Stud.

Looks pretty accurate to me... Did you use the FW Space marine on this?

Ok he is ready to paint the first part of the process was to reprime it black.
Before I was using Tamiya Fine Grey which is great for detecting imperfections and is sandable.
I then Used Alclad II Steel and Stainless Steel to spray on the first coat.
I am going to paint layers, Steel,Red Primer,Yellow and use making fluid for the paint chips and each stage.

@Sluggaslug Yes it is the FW marine which is now OOP.
That must of happened recently.

Much better, my eyes are no longer drawn to the groin region. The marine looks fantastic and so do the studs!

meh...as I said on the B&C, I think the studs are way out of scale, and the placement is rather un-even.

And like I said I kind of disagree,could they be a touch smaller sure,but there is nothing wrong with them.
Uneven? I have he set up the same way as Forge World.
Hey it is not for everyone though,I appreciate the critism though.
You words on B&C made me reset the studs to where I like them, halfway in would look small IMO

What's going to be the main yellow for the model?

I am thinking Iyanden Base with Golden Yellow.

Damit Red you got me looking at it closely there is a discrepancy the thw top two studs on the right is a little closer together than the left.

Meh nothing I can do about it now,this piece is for me I am not selling it or going to Golden Demon again,unless I have a kid.

This looks all amazing, but I must agree with Redfinger, the studs look like balls placed on the armor. They should be set deeper into the armor, more semi-circle, less full-circle.

Liking it so far, loking forward to him progressing.

The studs can always be redone without damaging the rest of the model,so at some point we'll see.
But I have used more Masking fluid applied with sponge on the hull red to preserve the red chips and have now basecoated him in Iylanden Darksun.

and then two layers of Golden Yellow,now it dries for 8 hours while I go to work.

This is really awesome! I had no opinion on the infamous groin stud, but I like the colors and detail. I really want to see what the bolter (I assume) and his head look like.

It already looks better than my attempts on making IFs.

Wow I was wondering what exactly you were going to put the bit to use for. It's looking good so far.

Studs are a bit like bobbles they stick out so much, but as you quite rightly said, a matter of taste

To be honest I may just reset them again if I do not like how they look painted.
When brand new they shine well like BB's.
IF I do that I will make the holes one drill bit size bigger

I also put it on the left side of his face for two reasons
First it had fewer creases but the most important is that it the side that faces away from your point of view,because I though it would be hard to do and look off.
But after seeing the pics how wrong I was I think I nailed it perfect
Also does this look like an olive completion to you or do I need to work it some more?

Well... no offense, but at a first glance, the tattoo looked like a Crocodile with blood on it's chin.
You could make the moon more ''cratery'' if you know what I mean. The rest of the face looks fantastic!

I think you should paint the tattoo larger, so it stretches from upper cheekbone right down to the jawline.

The moon should probably be crescent-shaped. This will both emphasize the fact that it's a moon design and also make it easier to curl the fingers around it.

Looking forward to seeing how those paint chips turn out!

Can't make the moon crateredit is very small you would not see them anyway.
I wanted a small discreet tatoo not one that coveres the whole side of face,I did consider that.
If someone can come up with a better design for a
"Skeletal Fist crushing a small moon" but all means please post them up(I mean pics not descriptions),If I think the design is better I will redo it.
