So my girlfriend pretty much bought me my first Valkyrie, guilty that I paid more for anniversary gifts. I've never but a model of this many pieces or size before and I'm overwhelmed at where to start. Should I prime everything while its on the spruces so I don't have to mess with trying to get my brush in every nook and cranny? Also should I avoid cluing all the weapons on in order to switch stuff around between Valkyrie and Vendettas? Any advice period would be much appreciated! Warmachine models have not really prepared me for something this big and I don't wanna ruin it ha. Thanks in advance for any and all advice guys/gals.

Safely watching earth blow up up from a good 60 million miles away :)

You shouldn't spray pieces while they are still on the sprues. you will spray over the parts that needs to be glued and you can't stick paint to paint

unless he scrapes the primer off the edges to be painted....I am pretty sure the GW site has a buildup article on the Vendetta. As I remember it from when I built a few, it is much easier to paint if you leave the wings detached, I would also not attach the canopy so you can get the details inside the cockpit, the weapons are good to leave off if you place to magnetize them, plenty of how to's on here about that, search is your friend....I would also not permanently attach the bird to the base.

Don't glue everything together in one go. Much bettter to take your time and put it together in sections, working out where you can fit a paintbrush. Its an expensive kit and well worth a bit of patience!

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Make sure to leave the clear glass out until the very end after painting. Also if you want to paint the interior you'll need to paint while its partially disassembled to get a good effect
If you're new to painting vehicles the forgeworld masterclass book is worth it imo.

I left the roof unglued.. that helps alot if you wanna paint the interior. or you could just paint the interior before you glue all those peices together. Same with the cockpit.

hope this helps and good luck!

I assembled and painted mine in stages.
Masking tape is great for leaving those contact surfaces clean for gluing.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.
