After a very rapid one-day build and priming last night, this is the lunchtime progress. Will probably finish basecoating the scales today.

Are you making Lord Mazamundi, or just some random Slann with his pet Stegadon "Snowball"?

Dunno! It's a big fat (metal) frog on a big fat (metal) chair on a big plastic dinosaur. Having loads of fun on it.

Also, I failed to complete my idea, and it might inspire you:
Make the Steggie and Slann Chinese themed.
(I was going to do that, but I have loads of DKOK and about 100 Empire Handgunners standing in my way. Yoi know how it is.

Liking the dinosaur very much, how are you going to mount the throne and make it look intended though? The top seems a bit too rounded for a flat surface balanced on top with a sumo frog perched precariously atop?!

The throne sides and back from the levitating platform fit quite nicely on the howdah. Thought they would, which is why I decided to shift to this piece for a GD entry. Time is pressing, and I didn't want to spend days on too complex a build.

Wow...

The Stegadon is looking good already!
What's going too be the final colour for the scales?

I'll probably hit them with some light camo green of some sort. Definetly keep them brownish to tie in with the tan.

The blending between the green and tan is seemless. I doubt ive seen better. Kudos.

You could even consider a reddish brown to give it lots of contrast.
also, make the Slann red or blue, to give the model some colour.

@Brother Azul: It's airbrushed. Took about half an hour, tops, not including brush cleanup time.

which slaan will you be putting on there? If you can find a Forgeworld Games Day Slaan it will set you apart from the rest. Thats the one they used to represent Mazamundi in the WHFB BRB in the Golden Demon Section. Just be prepared to create a mace and set it on the palaquin that mazamundi is on.

I like the depth in the shadow colors, really makes the model pop,I bet if you went up to white on just a few of the highlights it would pop even more.

If you are going to highlight the white (like said above), water it down, so you don't get the actual white colour, thus only making it lighter and ''awesomer''

I tend to use VMC ivory for top highlights, it's off-white. No worries there.

Looks great. Are the horns going to get highlighted at all? They look a little "flat" as is.

Finished the scales, done the mouth, started on the horns and plates...

Moving on with it... for some reason the horns seemed to take forever to paint... more tweaks to the face, and finishing the rest of the horns and skin tomorrow.

I agree with the Jackal part

Right now, the model is coming along great. maybe make the scratches on the skin even more realistic (add more colours) if you're up to it.
