On a boat, Trying not to die.

I've seen a ton of "What's your favorite GW model?" threads, but never a best miniature thread. So let's give credit to some of the other sculptors and companies.

My person favorite model is Beauty and the Bot, a model from Studio Mcvey, my all time favorite sculptors I own Ruby (My runner up), and cannot wait to own this.

Below are the photos for those who can't be arsed to click the links.

So, Dakka, what is your all time favorite model?

They have some really cool miniatures, particularly like Y'Sidra.

Think I'll be grabbing one of those for a Baron Sathonyx conversion - any idea what scale they are? Can't find mention of it anywhere

Oh, man, this is gonna be tough.

This model:

In fact, every model in this faction.

In fact, every model in this game. Utterly, utterly brilliant.

I don't know if they're the best, but I'm quite, quite fond of damn near every miniature from Wargods of Aegyptus, and this one is among my favorites:

I'd also have to say almost every Infinity figure is quite brilliant.

And despite my stance on GW as a company, the entire new Dark Eldar line is fantastic. Other than the monopose Grotesques, I love every model they've released so far for the Dark Eldar.

Overall, though, I'd say the Devourers of Vile-Tis Master of Carnage from Confrontation is the best mini I've seen.

That, my friend, is from Urban Mammoth, who have a skirmish game called Urban War and a mass-combat 40K scale game called Metropolis, which both use the same models.

Long ago, Metropolis was known as VOID, created by I-Kore, which was originally called (I think) Harlequin Miniatures or Harlequin Games.

So it's actually been around for quite a long time.

Incidentally, until Warpath hits, I think Metropolis is the only other sci-fi mass combat game, other than 40K. It's the only one I know of, certainly.

EDIT: Hmm, it appears Metropolis is discontinued, though I don't know if it's being reworked into a new edition or if it's gone for good. Urban War, however, is still around.

That's a really hard question to answer. It's only a small subset - but I can say for certain that this is my favorite dwarf model I've ever seen:

http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/Dwarves/latest/14042#detail/14042_Dwarfking_tl

Favorite overall - that would take a lot of thinking/deciding - as not one really towers above the rest. Plus it's hard for me to seperate the model from the paintjob.

When I first saw this model on CMON, I fell in love. I usually don't like skulls or skeletons, but the depiction of a Grim Reaper that personified inevitability as opposed to malice and death was welcome. I searched everywhere for this model as it was out of stock from every distributor I contacted. I finally bought it and have been too afraid to paint it since.

There are lots of beautifully made minis out there, but I just seem to love almost anything by Heresy Minatures; my fav being Painless Joe:

Not the most dynamic or detail just a fine miniature for gaming.

Also allot of what people are posting looks nice and all but you will struggle to use them for 40K....... [ducks]

I think so much of the Infinity range, I'm painting some up at the moment and I can't get over the level of detail on them. One of the things about them is that there is so much variety in the model range, so these favorites of mine are purely to my own taste. Sorry for the long post!

For anyone who grew up on Manga in the 90's like me this model is just incredible.

The sculptor of these must surely have seen the amazing but slightly creep Bjork video 'All is full of love'?
